Saw in the Standard that Parrish is meeting fans from block E
Trivial fact - Palace used to win 5-1 at least once a season, maybe next season? |

One of the questions this raises and i have seen no answers given by club. The 300 new singers are they existing season ticket holders? If so where do they sit? I may be cynical but suspect they do not have seasons so this is a way of getting to jump the queue for season. The club needs to answer a few very simple question. On a personal level I have no objection to singing section (so I support the concept). However the club should have been far more open in its discussions and got a clear mandate from the supporters and had a much wider dialogue over solutions. I feel that SP should resign as a director of the limited companies that own the club as due diligence in these decisions has not been clearly taken. He should hand over day to day running of the club to directors appointed by the shareholders (of which he is one) who understand how a football club is run and the importance of longterm fans. That's for something different according to the Standard as it's about establishing a signing section - presumably for deaf fans

Is that the singing equivalent of 'jazz hands' clapping? As the club "will not go back on their decision" any discussion seems a bit pointless. Is Parish going to spend the whole meeting with his fingers in his ears going LA LA LA LA!?
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

The so called "fanatics" and Parish have turned CPFC in to a laughing stock.

Holmesdale singing section, I've been a Crystal Palace fanatical fan for 60 years, and remember standing in the Holmesdale road end, its a pity that area behind the goal couldn't be returned to a standing section, just like the introduction black and white picture illustrates. Or build up that lower corner section of the Holmesdale A-B-C area with more singing and chanting, Flag waving Palace fans. So lets get together and try to sort this out so that all fans can enjoy the atmosphere at Selhurst park. If we've got to keep all seat stadiums, then let those loyal Palace fans have their favourite seats. " PALACE FOR EVER"

Badly handled by the Club, who have seemingly issued no commumication or offered any discussions. How did they think the Fans would react? The compensation offered seems to be a token gesture. At the very least the displaced fans should be offered a cut price/free season ticket for next season - and first dibs on seat choices in the new stand(at a price equatable to their current ticket). This would at least ensure that the Block E fans would still give the loyal supporters a good seat, and with the newer facilities and could be moved in Groups so the friends who have sat near one another for 10+ years can again sit near each other in the new world, albeit after a year or so in the wilderness.

The fact is that only a very small part of support was consulted. So does the Singing section have support and active support (people who want to take part). How big is that active support among existing supporters? Without this vital info no part of ground should have been allocated. There are a lot of potential scenarios that could now exist including refusal of planning permission to new stand, Refusal of permission to take part in a safe standing trial. Closure of Lower Holmesdale on safety grounds. The Fact is only time will tell and a lot will depend on behaviour of the Singing section. What if the season ticket holders who have 25 year tickets challenge these changes in Courts? and win? The fact is with the proper consultation the disruption would have been minimised.
