If you think that a clean sheet at home to Cardiff was an 'improved result' then you are crazy. The thread wasn't about Hennessey but about VG's costly errors and the fact that he just seems to kneel on the ground as goals go past him. If you do want to compare keeprs, then in his last 2, WH has made 8 saves and conceded 1 goal compared with VG's 7 saves and 4 goals conceded. Yes, WH was at fault for the 1 he let in at Burnley but then made an outstanding save to keep out Crouch's shot - VG would not have saved it as he doesn't have the reach. Sorry, but I just don't see that VG is the answer to our goalkeeping problems. Thus far I have not been that impressed by him.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Vicente Guaita thread' by Midlands Eagle He started off excellently and we had a good run. He then got a slight knock (can't remember who against). Roy explained in a press conference that Wayne was no. 1. Wayne came in and was his usual standard - average I would suggest.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Vicente Guaita thread' by Midlands Eagle If VG is the answer then what is the question? I can't see that he is any better or worse than WH, Both are prone to the odd clanger. More important is how they interact with the defence, and at the moment the defence doesn't look so clever. Nothing to do with Sahko missing and PVA in bad form?

We would have been in the draw for the semi with Wayne in goal We wouldnt have got near the qtrs with WH in goal, let alone been in the draw for the semis

At least he was willing to attack those corners instead of cowering on the goal line. Three of his first-half saves were outstanding - one exceptionally so. Bang on!

Sorry, but I just don't see that VG is the answer to our goalkeeping problems. Let me give you a bit of help. Guaita made a big save against Cardiff that prevented a potentially very costly defeat. Before getting injured for the Leicester game Wayne pushed a free kick straight out at Hernandez who buried West Ham’s all important second goal. On return from injury Wayne got completely lost on a corner against Watford when we were winning 1-0. We lost 2-1. After the Burnley game Wayne was injured again. Rewind back to Watford away when Wayne was beaten by a cross that sailed over his head. Despite the above Wayne has generally been decent over the last year but the new lad isn’t being being afforded the same level of generosity. Edited by Rachid Rachid Rachid (18 Mar 2019 9.39pm)

Well I'm not a Guita fan but that De Bruyne goal was no more than a fluke same as the Watford one. If anyone thinks different then they should try playing in goal.
