This particular supporter's hopes were raised by what the manager said our minimum requirements were Yes. That is certainly fair. Although managers use the media to send messages to the owners too.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sums up this transfer window' by Midlands Eagle Maybe not entirely our fault that the Amadou deal was not completed, but as pointed out this isn't our problem area, is it? It's our lack of attacking options that's the problem and we've brought in one untried player there but nothing that will make Benteke bother his arse for the rest of the season. Maybe Soerloth is more PL-ready than I expect. Hope so.

I know enough about the football transfer business to know that I know nothing. From where I am sitting, it seems completely unregulated and full of sharks, although I can’t even be sure of that. The one thing I do know is that I am glad that the window is finished, and that it won’t be coming back next season. Correct. Following FIFA's decision to deregulate agents the transfer world has gone bats*** crazy. There was an interesting article I read a couple of weeks ago that explained how mental things were & that FIFA were reviewing the situation in conjunction with FFP2. Problem here is they seem to be looking at it from the angle of limiting transfer fees & costs in relation to turnover which can only make life even more difficult for smaller clubs. Heard a comment yesterday from a journo that was along the lines of situations like Guaita & Mahrez were clubs fighting back against agents & big money to try & take some control away from players & their 'representatives'.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

So funny to see so many comments about how the club should have done 'this or 'that' to secure deals and not wait until last minute etc. Nobody here knows anything about any of the negotiations and what any of the reasons are that certain players didn't join the club. Only the club management have those details. Three new signings and many still moaning showing how clueless they really are. Still, it's great entertainment to watch so many get so stressed and act like children over what at the end of the day is a few games of football, quite remarkable Yes I concur with these sentiments. Vitriol hurled without being privy to the facts. I re-iterate that transfer negotiations in a 'Window' can be convoluted, protracted and darned well frustrating with so many factors entering the equation and one can expend energy on deals 24/7 which don't come to fruition for a plethora of reasons. Because we have signed unknowns from lesser leagues, not secured a goalkeeper and not acquired expected numbers supporters are hugely disappointed but at the end of the day the new chaps might prove very astute acquisitions.Time will tell.

Are you happy with Hennessey as our number 1? He is the worst keeper in the league. Your question seems somehow not serious, is it? Guaita is a whole lot better than Hennessey, check his stats and reputation. Why the hyperbole? Where is the evidence that Hennessey is the worst in the league? He is not the best - but look at Coutois and Cech’s last performances - apparently top keepers, but shocking mistakes; Hennessey’s performance against West Ham was competent (at least one good save). How many games have we lost over the last few months? Missed penalties have lost us more points this season than poor keeping. With Speroni and Hennessey in competition both have upped their game. It’s only if one gets injured that we have a real problem. We may bridge the gap in the summer - to take the pressure off Speroni.

Not the disastrous transfer window some are moaning about. We got a striker which was a priority. Missed out on a keeper for now but surely Hennessey and Speronf can see us through 13 games! As for missing out on Amadou, we don't need him. Kelly and Tomkins have been performing well together as centre backs and we got Sakho fit again plus the new Polish boy Jach not to mention Delaney and eventually Dann to come back. Not all gloom and doom!

He seems large and claims he’s physical and fast. I’ve got a good feeling about him with no good grounding. Hopefully he’s another Flo.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sums up this transfer window' by Midlands Eagle We brought in three players, how good they are we shall find out in due course, we didn’t spend a load of money and nobody left so I’m not complaining and there was nothing we could do about the Amadou thing. We’ve managed ok up till now with one goalkeeper so unless one gets injured we will be fine.

its simple its not there millions they stand to lose this site is full of plastic owners, not SP or DF fault that lille refused to let there player go because they couldnt recall a loan player back as for goalkeeper we dont have the worse goalkeepers in the lge in fact i think WH as played well lately maybe the coaching is sinking in, we have a promising young striker so make your judgments at the end of the season
