So that’s the end of the run of games we thought we should take some points. Now comes a much more difficult run and we are 2 points clear of the drop zone. Indeed but we were very much in the s**t at the beginning of this run and have taken 12 points from 8 games without losing. It would have been excellent had we taken 3 instead of 1 against Bournemouth and 3 today but all in all it's a good return considering where we were.

Disappointing but: unbeaten in 8 games, key players missing but the defence is now working, we have the real Speroni back, we have another point, we are not where we were 9 matches ago "odds on relegated". We have half the season finished with half the points of the 36 we'll probably need, playing top ten football, with January transfers to possibly come. Swansea are still owning the bottom, Pardew is...well Pardew... We have plenty of candidates to fill 3rd relegation spot, our goal difference is equal or better than 4 teams below us, Roy has made this a consistent side that gets points - even when we're playing bad. Unless something goes pear-shaped in January I am a very very very happy chappy. Merry Christmas!! Edited by Headbert (23 Dec 2017 5.17pm)

The whole league is barmy at the moment. The bottom 3 are changing all the time. Positives are ........we didn’t lose, still out of the bottom 3......something you would have never dreamt of a couple of months ago. Disappointing not to take all 3 points, but the unbeaten run continues and that is ultimately good for moral.

And the negativity starts again from a lot of people on here. We should have won that game and thats a fact we controlled the game from start to finish and get undone b a great piece of skill and goal. we missed Benteke big time in that game but regardless we should been out of sight before they scored. Our defense was solid and no bad performances on the pitch, we just lacked a bit of composure in front of goal. I am far from happy we only got a point but id be much more if we sneaked a late equalizer and played s***e. We have improved 1000% percent in the last couple months and with a it of luck with injuries we will be more than safe come May.

Edited by Headbert (23 Dec 2017 5.17pm) Maybe taking one match with another, but anyone who thought any of that today (with the exception of Milivojevic' penalty conversion) was "top ten football" is delusional.

I felt there was a bit of a switch off after our goal and we allowed them a bit too much space to make plays. Their goal was unstoppable but they were allowed to build up a bit too much attacking steam. I thought we might nick one at the death but got a bit unlucky. Still, a point is better than none and we have Tekkers coming back for Arsenal. I'd feel better about beating the Gooners with Sakho available but I still think we have a fighting chance against them.
