We are forgetting something. Parish has already sold him for £15mill so for those thinking he won't do so again for £55mill might want to have a re-think.

Nothing at all to see here unless Wilf hands in a transfer request, if he comes to a gentleman's agreement with Parish about a future guaranteed departure date for a minimum fee or if he actually has a release clause. If he wanted a move and had a release clause, I would have thought that would have leaked out into the press by now. I think all is good on Planet Wilf at the moment - loving his football, loving the adulation, loving being a family man and doubtless loving the wedge and Uncle Ron's mansion. Who says he wants to move anytime soon?
Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune) |

As far as I know he's a Palace player and gives his all every game - can't see that he would want off given the plans for the stadium development and that the fans love him - I know money turns heads, but he is at home here...

I'm not saying he won't want to go again but which ever way you look at it that deal with him getting us promoted was a bloody good deal.

From the man himself when he re-signed "When I am here, I feel more confident. I have lived in south London all my life and my family is here. I cannot keep that in my head all the time because I could have another move, but Crystal Palace is my home.”

There is no rush to sell. If Man City came in with a massive offer, i could see that happening in the Summer. It would be a backward step going to Arsenal or Chelsea... He is twice the player that Lukaku is, so i would value him at well over 100 million...

As 'Sure as eggs' a bid from a bigger club will come in. If Zaha has his head turned and really feels that at this stage of his career he would like to play on a bigger stage, then our club might deem that they wouldn't wish to deny him this opportunity and that it is in our interests and Zaha's that there is a parting of the ways. So it's not a question of the owners bring "Small-minded" - they will have to take everything into consideration. I don't expect Zaha to be with us next season. Edited by Willo (19 Dec 2017 10.33am) According to Willo's contacts Wilf will leave in the summer & for once I believe his cat! Personally I can see him joining the Arse in the summer when Sanchez goes. He didn't enjoy his time living up North in Manchester so staying in London will appeal to him. I will be gutted when he leaves although not as much as when Wright left but he deserves his chance to play at a higher level. I hope he stays & I am wrong but the big clubs will be looking at his performances this season & will be bidding for him. Edited by Welsh Eagle (19 Dec 2017 11.10pm)

I used to work at sea on cruise ships, i had one favourite ship that i had a great working relationship on and the ship also had a personal link to me, i used to sail on her as a kid, so i was so proud to work on her. I got moved around, handed promotion on other ships but it didn't work out, as weirdly enough, other ships had other vibes etc and i just wanted to be where i felt most comfortable. I think that amy be the same for Wilf. He tried the big club, it didn't work out - has that scared him off? Maybe... Can he crack a big club, ofcourse... should he? Who knows. He has a great home in warlingham, around his friends and family of south london - he is a local hero - maybe a big fish in a small pond, but what is it really all for? Only he knows. I think if we build a club around him, hand him the arm band in a year or two - properly compete for a cup, would that be enough? you would hope so, but in football, you never know. Now, do i personally think he can make it at a bigger club?? I don't think so - the pressure would be too much for him - it'll be interesting to watch Bolaise this year as a similar example.

No offence, but you are trying to convince everyone he deserves to leave, which is strange. He is a guaranteed starter in the best league in the world, which wouldn't necessarily be the case at a top 4 club. He didn't seem that bothered about playing on the biggest football stage "The World Cup", when he turned his back on England, because he wasn't being picked at that time. England always get to the finals, Ivory Coast is more hit or miss. No, I'm trying to say that this kid has the potential to win everything and that won't be with us and if that's the path he chose, I don't think we could or should stand in the way. If he want's to stay and is happy to do so we should do everything we can to keep him. I don't see how that makes me a worse Palace fan than others on here (not aimed at you, you haven't said that but several others have) I'm just being realistic. Interesting point about the world cup though, hopefully you are right and his willingness to pick something that he's more comfortable with will work in our favour - that said, playing for England isn't exactly a guarantee of success!
