Of course if it was a Muslim running round with a big knife asking people if they were Christian, we wouldn't hear the last of it. Probably because we live in a Christian country(supposedly.) I think it is more likely that this guy is very limited in the brain department. I think even The Mail might be a bit of challenging for him. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (23 Nov 2017 3.50pm)

That's not really true, even the BBC isn't left wing, its very much liberal in its leaning, but its certainly not left wing. Liberal, definitely - its very much leaning towards the centre. For some reason a lot of people see that these days as being left wing, possibly because during the Blair years the Liberal Democrats were arguably the most left on the political spectrum (they however are pro-capital and most certainly not left wing). Terms like the 'liberal-left' have been utilised to deliberate present the idea that everyone who isn't right wing, hold similar or the same beliefs (arguably a tactic of the right wing). Arguably, the so called hard left aren't hard left at all. In Norway for example, Corbyn would be seen as a centrist.

Maybe we just need a new definition for people who pander to identity politics and vote labour.

Exactly. Mr Hedgehog. I find your comment rather amusing given that your location is listed as Croydon which from personal experience is infinitely worse than Birmingham

I don't agree that the BBC is liberal, perhaps more so in the past. I'd say it is left learning centralist....mostly seen in its producers. This is obviously a perspective here as to what exactly is liberal and left in modern terms.

I think it's often interesting that people lack good definitions so resort to easy ones. The political radar which asked about social vs economic attitudes is a more interesting way of looking at it but it's still pretty limited. But perhaps it would be a good idea to resurrect the thread on that from some years ago, to reduce the frequency with which people put other posters in categoreis they don't feel they fit into.

The BBC has all manner of right-wing commentators on regularly via their current affairs output. But perpetual victimswill always find someone/something to moan about no matter how untrue.
