I fully agree with you Pax, but I have also been saying this for a long time it’s the same situation with Jonny William too injury prone and why have we got Julian Speroni still as a squad member, sentiment aside Sporoni has been a fantastic servant to the club, but times move on three squad places in my mind that could be use with more effective players.

You have to have three keepers in the squad that is why Jules is keeping his place, deservedly so.

Is it about time CP sorted out the CW situation, it has gone on to long, if the player is not fit, and after all this time l have my doubt he ever will be, is it not time for Palace to sort out some kind of a insurance payout, and let him go. Is he not taking a squad place? Which we could do with filling with a striker that could actually appear and score goals. Palace have been more than fair, and it is hard on the guy but needs to be done!!!

He is 25 and to spend time now in making absolutely sure he is fit and able is very wise, too many players come back unprepared and then ruin everything, but it is very painful to watch and wait, age is saving him, contracted until 30.06.2020

Just heard the press conference.
Roy said if anybody expected Wickham to start tomorrow after 45 mins and 65 mins in two under 23 games, when he has been out for two years, then essentially they would be mistaken.
I suspect Ayew and Kelly to replace Zaha and Tomkins pretty much as everybody has forecast.
Wickham could be on the bench and I have a feeling Schlupp could start.

Just read on the BBC that Dann is fit - if so starts ahead of Kelly for me all week long and twice on a Sunday..!!

Agree it will be Ayew - but I would go Wickham will give the team a big lift to have Dann and Wickham back in the staring line up.

I don't suppose Dann will start straight from a long outage though, especially not with Hodgson in the chair and especially not for a centre-back. Would be good to see an appearance from the bench though. Would've dropped Tomkins even if not suspended. Needs a mental de-tox.

So glad to see him get a goal tonight clearly it meant a lot to him. Good awareness and in the right place like he was for most of game.

Hopefully he can show a little more in the league too. C’mon Connor and c’mon Palace!!!!

I’ve read so many posts from doubters. We have to get behind this boy. Returning from a long injury and picking up another injury in a different place is a well worn path. It will happen to Benteke as well. Let’s stop panning him when he is so close and has come so far. All he ever wanted to do was play football, he hasn’t done it to himself. Let’s hope he is the exception, and get behind him. He certainly had something we lack now before the injury which is know how and belief in the final third. Without obvious alternatives having a moan isn’t helping so getting behind the guy and keeping the faith ❤️💙 might be all we have left. I for one am dreaming of a Wickham winner, AGAIN!!! COYP!!

A Murray-type goal. In the right place at the right time. His striker’s instinct has not deserted him during his long lay-off.

Many thought due to the seriousness of his injury and number of setbacks, that he would perhaps struggle to ever make our first team.
Welcome back Connor and what an outcome and good news story.

Might have been a tap in but that’s what we have been missing He was in right place .Benteke would have been on penalty spot if he started .Although thought it looked more like a different Benteke today looked to have got his apatite back
