And they were both probably too close and not challenging each other when required.

Didn't he muck up the previous August window by not having enough left back, of course no one knew what would happen to papa. Zeki fryers was never adequate cover. Also defensive mid was also neglected, yes an unfit flamini was bought in but it didn't recitfy the hole left by jedinak. Both areas weren't addressed until January.Too say this is a one off is far from the truth imo. Edited by Dan89 (18 Sep 2017 5.46pm) Edited by Dan89 (18 Sep 2017 6.10pm) Parish said he wanted to keep Campbell because he valued him at 8 or 9 million and didn't think it'd be possible to get someone as good for similar. Wilf gets injured (partly due to no protection from the ref vs Huddersfield and partly because he should have been pulled off earlier when he was getting kicked to bits)

And what about the Turkish guy at Besiktas banging in v Porto from 40 yards? Campbell valued at £9 million? Of course he is. Doesn't score, doesn't build play or much else apart from just chase. Yep, £9 mil all day. He wasn't worthy of a squad place and we had the money to replace him. Therefore the issue is doing it in time. But again, it's left till 31st August and still it's defended like it was unavoidable or beyond our control.

How can you make such a comment. I personally thought he come across a bit of a wally. Especially regarding wanting praise for signings such as Delaney, bolasie and Zaha. According to Steve his constantly criticised by fans when signing go wrong. Now if you look when Wilf signed his new deal. There was plenty of fans praising his efforts. It's part of life if Steve parish is prepared to bask in glory with signings such as Sako and Zaha. Then you open yourself up for criticism of signing bakary Sako and adebayor. Yes, he was generous with his time, which I applaud him for. There was hardly any fresh news regarding stadium development, academy, transfer failures and the poor scouting department. The question were generally easy imo. The questions were sound. But maybe a tad too articulate & respectful for the wtf merchants.

On the face of it, it looks heedless to only have one recognised striker and of course it is deeply concerning. Maybe Hodgson will not wish to risk Benteke tomorrow given the game and situation but who does he bring in to replace him ? Ladapo ? Maybe Sako will play as a striker ? Huddersfield can choose from Mounie,Depoitre,Kachunga,Quaner and Sabiri.

Of course it depends on steve's time but maybe you should cover 2 topics throughly. Imo Thanks Hambro. Good interview. I guess most listeners only needed one take.

I fear Benteke v Huddersfield now. If there weren't 20 odd cameras I'd expect them to put him out for over a year, knowing that's us down. They'd probably do it in front of cameras regardless.

I have been speculating as to whether Hodgson will actually play Benteke. But who are the alternatives ? Doesn't fill one with any degree of glee.
