Without doubt, his time as chairman should come to an end. I'm just not sure he's up to it. He did us a great service in buying the club, and even if we were to get relegated and from there plummet down to the conference he should always be thanked for that. If it hadn't been for Parish et al we wouldn't have a team to support and that doesn't bear thinking about. That said, we need a new man at the helm. Someone who doesn't get as involved, someone who is prepared to plough in the necessary funds needed to survive in this league. When Pulis left I thought he (Pulis) was the antichrist, but with Allardyce going in a similarly inexplicable fashion it became pretty clear that stability will never be achieved under Parish. Allardyce and Pulis are perfect fits for our club, we all knew it, and when they came they did the job and proved us right. De Boer was patently not fit for this team, and I couldn't believe it when people were being shot down in flames only weeks ago for suggesting as much on this site. I didn't see the reason why we should have to wait for 'the system' to develop, when we could see with our own eyes that the basics had gone to pot. The whole thing, to my mind, has been a self-induced catastrophe. I don't like to be negative, but enough is enough. Edited by SwalecliffeEagle (11 Sep 2017 7.09pm) Enough is enough? Enough what? Premiership football club to support? Enough of having the best ever squad of quality international superstar players?

This post has been merged from a topic called 'utterly disgusted' by Guntrisoft with parish. yes it needed a new thread, yes it made me feel better. after a 1200 mile trek running away from Irma, my cuz texts me withthe bad news. i have never criticized parish before now, but he has totally lost the plot.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'utterly disgusted' by Guntrisoft Couldn't agree more I feel utterly ashamed at the way de bore was treated because everyone could see the improvement against Burnley but no weare getting someone who I don't rate at all and definitely don't think he's good for the future of this club.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'utterly disgusted' by Guntrisoft My initial reaction was the same . I have however now calmed down and can only think FDB had to go ,he was a dead man walking so to speak and it was only a matter of time . The rumours say he was not liked by either the players , chairman or the board ,the only allies he had at the club were those he brought in . In short he wasn't Palace . Parish should take some credit for acting before the rot set in and the place began to stink .He knew he would take some flack so fair play to him . The choice of Roy Hodgson is a safe one as long as he has some decent coaches around him we will be OK The season starts now , COYP

If you're going to insist on being an unbearably pompous know-it-all then I suggest you provide the knowledge required to back it up. Or at the very least engage with what people have said. We'll leave it here, I think.

I've heard this used against Benteke, Hennessey, Chamakh, Townsend and a host of other players. Yes, Parish may have 'stopped the rot' early but there were other things that need addressing. The farce of the transfer window which leads onto this publicised promise of funds to allow de Boer to play his style, the whole interview process (with the quoted short list of 37) and why de Boer was not informed straight that Burnley result was of no import to the inevitable sacking. Let us hope Roy Hodgeson is these 'safe pair of hands'.

We don't know who leaked the rumours. And more worryingly we don't know if he was disliked by all the players or just a clique with the ear of the chairman.

A little confusion with your post here fish bone. Everybody could indeed see the improvement in the performance of the team at Burnley. But it was with a system imposed on FdB by a worried board, confused players and frustrated fans. Everyone was saying Palace must play the Palace way with the players available, and so the players did. Edited by adrian b (12 Sep 2017 8.19am)
