Someone with more football experience. I personally haven't got a name but I know there's people out there to take us to the next level.

And this is the problem. Most chairman haven't got the football experience and are in it for the money only. I truly believe Parrish is in it for the club as he would not have bailed us out in the first place.

We are very lucky to have a chairman who loves the club. As I have said previously, look at the state of some clubs now where that was clearly not the case.

You should be very careful what you wish for!!!

And achieved some nice cladding on the main stand. There is a danger that chairman think they are football experts. They are not as Goldberg proved. Football matters should be handled by football people and financial matters should be subject to most businesses and authorised by a plan delivered by the experts to a financial man. The person delivering the plan should then live and die by the numbers (in football terms by the points delivered)

It seems to me that there are a decent number of fans who are just rubbed the wrong way by Steve Parish generally. I would hazard a guess that for some of them it's because he's a successful Palace fan who has got things that they will never have (money, success, power and is a relatively young man who owns the club he supports) and that they will never be satisfied until he is gone and they can feel a bit better about their own lives again by comparison.

There also seems to be a touch of forgetting where we came from and in my opinion we deserve to go down because of what our fanbase has become now (fanbase, not supporters). I saw a stat that our promotion-winning side five years ago cost something like 3 million, yet now we go toe to toe with top sides, regularly spend over 20 million on a single player and are offering 100k+ on wages to top players (and getting them). Still, it's never enough and that is today's breed of football fan.

If you hate Parish then everything he's done has been terrible (including Holloway walking away and us getting Benteke and Sakho because they didn't come early enough in the window). If you love him then everything is forgivable, including us now having only one recognised striker in the 24 man squad. I would argue that maybe the true picture lies somewhere in the middle. I live with an Arsenal fan who is in disbelief at the farce their club is becoming and who looks at a club like Palace, which manages to stay true to it's roots and still progresses, with envious eyes.

There were always negative threads about Parish long before this transfer window and there always will be, regardless of what he does. Personally I think we have one of the only chairmen in the league who has the best interests of the club they own at heart and who has continually advanced us with to-be-expected bumps in the road. He will make mistakes, as does everyone, and there are things that people moan about that we're not entirely privy to. He deserves a lot better than some of the cr@p he gets on here though, shame on a lot of you.

Well done on getting Sakho you saved us a hole 4 Million when we could have had him from the start of the season and may be had some points on the board.

Really??? What for standing up to a fraudulent lying scumbag. WTF

I have often criticized Parish where I think that it's warranted and have also defended him when I think that he has been unjustly criticized but in all that time I very much doubt whether anyone has criticized him for the reasons that you have stated as quite frankly your claim is daft.

Not that old chestnut again. Even the Palace directors have told the fans that it's time to move on but it's people like yourself who seem to be stuck in the past

You are looking at our transfer dealings through Palace coloured glasses. Our squad is lop sided and our success this year will be partly dependant on our only striker not being injured or banned. Who is responsible for us not getting a back up striker if not the man who controls every aspect of the club?

This is a discussion forum not a "love in" and the whole idea is to discuss various aspects of the club and it's football in a rational way.

The only constant in a football club is the fans as players, owners and chairmen come and go. Parish has been a good chairman but if he's now out of his depth and making mistakes that could adversely effect the club then it's to move over. I'm not saying that he should but it has nothing to do with "loving him" and the decision should be taken without any emotion.
