So basically what you're saying is, he played 4 at the back with Ajax who won the league 4 years on the trot. Played 4 at the back with Inter who are an Italian giant but then came to PALACE and thought oh you know what? Defence for a mid table premier league side is less important so I'm gonna go for an even more attacking system than the one I've always used and just blindly get rid of a defender.

Can you not see that even if de Boer to you is the worst manager in the history of the world, that is nonsensical. He's not that stupid, even if his idea of bringing his system to a more defensive style is wrong. The motive behind it was to be more defensive than he has been in the past.

Good grief. Wibble.

I think he meant in terms of lacking courage on the ball. But of course when one is lacking confidence and under pressure, sometimes one's use of the ball suffers.

My point still stands.

Basically you've realised I've put some thought into an assessment and it directly goes against the black and white nature of your posts so you decide it would be easier to stop engaging in debate and call me "Mr De Boer" and "Franks Relative" instead, despite the fact I never defended him or his tactics.

Mature and well thought out, mate.

Apparently it's all because of players not doing as they're told.

Would a footie manager really tell his players to "improve their decision-making"? Is it really that simple i.e. "I want you to become a better player overnight; got that, son?"

Chris Waddle repeats it every time England gets knocked out of a tournament. Little boys (and little girls these days) in Britain grow up in a footie playground culture of wanting to score more goals than their opponents. In FdB's Dutch playground the kids want to show their peers how clever they are at trapping and holding onto the ball as long as possible.

One of those two things would be a start...

What's your point slimey? Is scoring more goals than your opposition a bad thing? Not sure from that comment which you prefer?

He thinks he can be arrogant like Wenger. Difference is Arsene manages a top six club, regularly gets into Europe and makes the owners a profit.

It's because you're either blind or haven't any idea what's going on in the match, mate.

We struggle to break teams down at home so you're saying we're playing 3 at the back because Frank wants us to become more defensive. Have a recap on your understanding of football and come back when you have.

The players don't suit 3 at the back and we don't have the money to acquire them. That brings Frank under heavy scrutiny.

Zaha wasn't on the pitch either.

And how effective was he against Huddersfield under our 'new system' (being kicked to buggery notwithstanding)?

Well, Liverpool aren't a team that have just been promoted to the PL. They also aren't a team that kick other teams off the pitch. Zaha would have been very at home playing against them weekend before last. We definitely missed his skills during that game.

You learn to command the ball first in places like Holland. There is nothing wrong with counter-attacking route one football - to be honest I prefer it the philistine that I am.
