Im just saying that there would have been a frre for all had it been him. Luka being a fav can get away with it. Punch is not and so xan never get away with it. In general we were better than last week and it was good to see Kai Kai on the field.

It was a better performance, no doubt about it. Liverpool were the better side and if not for Hennessey and two dreadful freekicks taken by them it could have been more than one? shame we screwed it up last week otherwise 1.0 today wouldn't be so bad? Next week against Swansea will see if we are going forward or not as we can't continue to lose matches trying to adapt to a new style. Dann up top at the end shows we are missing a second striker badly. Good cameo performance by Kaikai and good to see McArthur back. Shame also that Luka made the mistake as he looked our best player. That goes out the window though when you give a goal away and when you aren't scoring down the other end as its even more important not to make mistakes. As mentioned, great performance by Hennessey

A win is a win they say and a loss is a loss. We didn't play badly but are still at the bottom looking up. How long before it gets psychological damaging and a losing mentality sets in. We need at least three more additions

I wouldn't sell because they do add to the squad but we need better starters to replace them. I was hoping that we could get at least a goal as I was watching the match but not many chances. However, We looked ok, a huge improvement on last week.

Might have been a different story had Benteke put the chance away. 100% improvement on last week. A bit disappointed in Townsend's 2nd half display, he first touch let him down badly today and cost us to lose possession too easily. Hats off the WH, Luka and L-C, top efforts today. Ward and Puncheon are still the weak links and we need a decent proven striker up front in the absence of Zaha. Anyone know the latest on Wickham?

Huge improvement on last week's performance and one we can surely take positives from. Losing 1-0 at Anfield to an unlucky rebound is nothing to be ashamed of and if Benteke hadn't missed a gilt-edged opportunity who knows what would have happened? Edited by pompeyeagle (19 Aug 2017 5.36pm)

Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer speaking to Sky Sports: "We played almost 90 minutes very solid. We frustrated Liverpool sometimes and we were very organised. We played a little deeper but also that was because Liverpool are a team you have to respect. "We have to fight every minute together. In 15 minutes we lost the game at Selhurst Park and today we were 95 minutes very concentrated and one unlucky touch we conceded the goal. "I am happy with the spirit, not the result but we can build from here."

Why all this talk about players, who should be replaced? These were the players beating Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea a few months ago! The manager, who insists on a system that does not suit these players, is the issue! And why care about posesssion and passing? Do we really prefer possession and loosing to scoring and winning? Well I, for one, don't...

Well I, for one, don't... You tell 'em mate, FDB out! But seriously, I agree with all the sane people on here, lot's of positives to take from that, we did well under pressure, Punch even had a shot on target but I agree him, Ward and Hennessey (even though he had a fantastic game he can't do that every week, which is what we need) are the ones we need to look at replacing. Kai kai looked interesting from the little we saw, which was a nice surprise.

I thought we did well today, massive improvement. We do need another winger as we're screwed when wilfs injured. Hennessy was brilliant also.

Well, I am satisfied. No messing around trying to play out from the back today, and a disciplined performance where the players looked like they knew what they were doing. Alleviates some fear that De Boer will try to force us to play in a way that's uncomfortable for us. I'm not satisfied either, Pardew had a problem in defending that could have been solved with half the dosh we have spent leading up to todays entertainment.
