Parish must stay.brilliant chairman. Can't believe some peeps want him out. Parish is the Chairman and a chairman's job is to plan the long term strategy and not to get involved in the minutiae of footballing matters and if the rumours are true that he does go over the manager's head and sign players and extend contracts then that is very wrong and if he continues to do that he will end up with such a bad reputation that no half decent manager will want to come here

Our last two managers have said quite the opposite to dispel any reputation about being an interfering chairman. In fact, didn't Sam say he invited SP into the dressing room after Sunderland to let 'em know how he felt rather than SP simply sticking his nose in. The only whinger on that front was Pulis & we've been told by two different judges that he was lying about more or less everything when he tried to fleece CPFC. Perhaps there's grounds for SP to be a tad more cautious than most but if it wasn't for social media & t'interweb these recycled rumours wouldn't see the light of day.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

I doubt whether many will dispute the fact that Steve Parish works in what he thinks is the best interests of Crystal Palace but what is of concern to some is that his best efforts may just be counter productive as whenever he gets a decent manager he does something to make them want to leave and when they do they are invariably replaced with someone who doesn't cut the mustard and is expensive to get rid of. Let's not forget that the club paid £3m to hire Pardew and probably a similar sum to get rid of him again What did he do to "get rid" of Allardyce? Blow up the Manchester Arena? Get his wife to ask him to hang up his boots? Strew frogs in his flat? And he sacked Pardew because he had turned to s***e, and that decision was not exactly controversial.

Only making purchases that will have a sell-on value is a laudable aim that few would argue with. The problem is that, in reality, we've spent a sizeable chunk of cash and we're, at best, standing still so far. There is, at the very least, a background noise about transfers in the Summer window that won't go away. There is a possibility that two experienced managers may have been off on their toes because, for whatever reason, they couldn't work with what was on offer. I'm happy to give the owners the benefit of the doubt this time, but if a third manager walks in similar circumstances then questions do need to be asked.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

The conspiracy theorists are saying that Sam was annoyed because he couldn't bring in Defoe for £6m and £130,000pw in wages but I'm not convinced. Sam was a pragmatist who probably had an idea of what his budget was and even made noises in the media about the difficulties of buying players. My own conspiracy theory is based on the surprise that he showed when told that two of his players that had contracts expiring had just had them extended. It's a theory that I poo pooed at the time on the basis that I didn't think Parish would be that stupid but Sam's hasty walk out has made me change my mind

You've obviously decided not to entertain that possibility
