Please don't be rude Michaela.

I am 100% for real. Don't get me wrong, racist behaviour is abhorrent but people get caught up in all manner of crazy s*** when in a crowd. Especially young men in groups at football matches in the 1980s.

The point I am making is that all this "homophobic chanting is bantz" just doesn't hold water. But those who engage aren't necessarily homophobes. Likewise those who keep quiet may well still be.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

I find it hard to get my head round anyone making monkey noises or shouting something directly aimed at someone black in the 1980a as being anything other than racist. If you weren't racist you simply wouldn't do something like that surely? Is singing we scored 5 you scored 1 Brighton take it up the bum actually homophobic? Obviously if you went up to one of their fans and shouting you f***ing poof or queer at them then to me that's homophobic.

When I was a young girl my Mother said to me.. You listen here kid you're CPFC

No. I disagree. I think men can sometimes be incredibly thick in crowds.

There are so many things I personally did 20-25 years ago that I did because I was with mates having a laugh. (Not racist s*** but s*** I'm ashamed of today). Even at the time, I would have known those things were f***ing dumb.

Those things absolutely didn't represent my beliefs then and even less now.

I am hoping I now come across less dumb?

Point is people need to ask themselves what they truly believe and if they're not homophobes don't give a hiding place to those who are by joining their chants

If you go back to the times of the old den and the treatment they gave our team, even then it was too much and actually quite sickening. There was also the over the top treatment Fashanu got when he came out. These are examples where banter is by no way an excuse and this is not acceptable. On the other hand, I also get fed up with how PC this country as a whole has become. I sometimes feel like keeping my mouth completely shut for fear of offending someone somehow. The press articles, over the top sensationalised journalism and even things like the example in this article needs to stop as most of the time it creates more issues than solutions...

They say that a lot of homophobes turn out to be closet homosexuals. Based on that finding I'm worried that I might actually turn out to be a massive spider.

Right mate , cards on the table. What have you done? I mean ' what have your mates done?'
You've obviously got something to get off your chest.

I'll guess first, I reckon you raped a few people , but it was as part of a crowd and it in the 80s so it doesn't count. You want to know if it still means you're a bit rapey?

Hold on. This is all the wrong. If chants directed at heterosexual Brighton fans are to do with being gay to wind them up and offend then surely the wind up merchants should also be inclusive to gay Brighton fans too by aiming some 'straight' chants'
at them?

'We scored two you scored none
You want to have some Milf fun'

Or

'Ha Ha Ha -Tesco kit
You like to squeeze ladies tits'

I mean if I were gay that would really p1ss me off and be offensive.

Maybe to deflect s*** they will start to call themselves the gays. Similar to the yids calling themselves the yids.
