Confidence is coming back and the keeper who with his country bottom the Euro semi finals is re appearing. Apart from when he came half way out flapped around at the ball, missed, got stranded for what seemed like an eternity, for our defence to get the ball away. I wonder how many on these threads actually watch the games. Or actually go to the matches.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

Not taking anythig away from the team yesterday because it was a fantastic result. But this hero worship of Hennessey is ridiculous. He only ever gets a good wrap when he has f*** all to do. That save from Foster yesterday showed exactly what we are missing. And don't think this new defensive partnership is going to give Hennessey nothing to do every week. It's when he's called into action that the problem of him not being any good raises it's head.

For the record I do not hero worship Hennessy but what really annoys me is that he alone seems to be singled out and is subject to some outrageous comments on here week after week. He is a Crystal Palace player and supporting Palace means just that, the whole team whoever is playing.

I haven't slated his performance. Just giving a very honest assement instead of carrying on like he actually did anything of note. He didn't have anything to do. Nothing to warrant firing up this thread for anyway.

Hennessey and Ward are now the weak links in a very good team, that has started to come together (others may argue Puncheon as well but I believe he makes a good captain and is starting to turn his game around, but I can see their point) it's just the truth and about as constructive a criticism of the team that you can make at the moment. Edited to add: I don't think Speroni is the answer either. Edited by boo909 (05 Mar 2017 11.32am)
Bangell - If Camus wrote The Myth of Sisyphus today, it would be about Jason Puncheon eternally trying and failing to pass with his right foot. |

Come next season we need 3 new goal keepers Mandanda's inability to catch a ball in favour of punching, Hennessey's inability to deal with crosses and positioning in general Jules is sadly over the hill. Sell Benteke and buy Sakho, we need a solid defence and CW will be back next season.

Why do people kee banging on with this 'Speroni will not be our Saviour,' point? No one thinks that he would be, people just think that he is better than Hennessey

I was at the match yesterday and thought WH and JW played well. Neither have had a great season, I accept. WH had two dodgy kicks; that all I saw. Speroni's kicks are woeful in comparison. The weak link is Puncheon. However, his passion, care and recent captaincy have created an upsurge. BFS seems to steadying and steering the ship in the right direction. We get a result against Watford with WH doing okay, I do hope people will change their opinion.

I am not a fan of WH at all but you do come to realise that he was exposed the way we had been playing. His flaws were laid bare. I suspect that many a PL keeper would have looked poor in our team the way we were being set up. Lots of quality crosses and shots...if he flaps 20% of the time, he's going to get slaughtered. Yesterday, he didn't really have anything real to do that I can remember.

Yeah saw that. I've forgotten which it was. The point I'm really making is that GK is a tough position in this league. Liverpool don't have a good one. Watford's is very flappy. WBA''s is meh. Much mediocrity throughout the division
