He was referred to as the best keeper playing in the French league and Frances number 2 keeper, I would consider that hype. All I can assume is the standard in France is poor. Or you could assume that it's a bit short sighted to form an opinion of a player after a handful of games? Tbf he made some superb saves and his distribution was outstanding. Hes probably too good for the players around him because his game is quick tempo and he distributes the ball to players feet or for them to run on to. Our style is more hoof to Benteke's head and moan that he can't fend off 2 defenders and keep the ball.

Yeah must be that the standard is poor. Not like the French league produces many top attacking players for him to have to deal with after all, is it. I don't recall Speroni ever making "endless mistakes",especially last season when I don't think he played any league games.

Id like Hennessey to do that too Its a basic requirement of a keeper, all this he distributes the ball well is boll_cks. Bravo at Citeh is an example of a so called great distributor of the ball from European football no good if you cannot save goals going in. Edited by Painter (25 Jan 2017 9.41pm)

I agree only Pardew thought Mandanda was better.

Hennessey has played approaching thirty league games over the last year of which we have won three. He's left countless question marks against his performances during this same period. We've picked up three wins with Mandanda in eight league games. Jury's still out with Mandanda but Hennessey's had his chance.
