Pretty common everywhere north of Watford to use a preterite where a past participle is required, and vice versa. I prefer it when the tw@t actually refs at international finals because then we don't have to listen to the s***e he spouts. As well as being the worst ref in Christendom he's also the worst pundit. Yup to that. Watching the Brazil v Swiss game, his contribution was that the Swiss goal should have been reviewed; and he would have disallowed it. That was enough to remove any doubt in my mind that it was a caste iron goal.
