Put it this way, if you were born in Wales and subsequently reside in England, you don't suddenly become not Welsh anymore. No more than if you were born in London and move to Manchester, do you become a Mancunian. However, that may be too difficult a concept to grasp for some, so perhaps the subject is just best left.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Your allowed to sing knees up mother brown, but not the Lambeth walk. I was born in (the now defunct) South London maternity hospital and learnt to walk in Lambeth. Lambeth is on my birth certificate. Moved to Croydon from Battersea aged 6 til 23. f***ed off to Aus for 14 years until this year, now back in Croydon temporarily with family. What does this make me?

It hasn't. Quite the opposite. All the best places, and clubs, have been closed down bar one. Even Allders and Beanos. The Ship survives!
You're South London if you understand it's f*** all to do with geography and everything to do with a state of mind and attitude. I live in Central London -because I can and because it suits my lifestyle, but my blood and that of my family's has always been and always will be South London. And f*** anyone for insulting it. If you're tired of life, you're tired of London - bollocks to that. If you're dull and inadequate, London will spit you out and you can go lick your wounds some place else. We don't want you. South London and Proud was on our shirts for a reason. Personally, if you don't feel that you can never be a true Palace supporter and will always be the worst kind of plastic
