It was just a case of lots of players not being at their best and some of the reactions on here are over the top. I don't think tactically there was much wrong; I mean, how can you explain Bentenke missing two clear headers and a penalty? The subs were correct in my opinion and one of them had a big influence. West Ham's trio were big and strong and did well to contain Big Ben, but had Zaha and Townsend been more effective we could have got something out of this. Next week I think Cabaye needs to be back in the team as I think he will be key in this new system working. Going back to the Pardew thing, he has changed things a number of times during games this season to good effect eg at Everton they were overrunning us and he made a few minor tweaks and we ended up on the front foot; against Sunderland he wanted more crosses so he brought on Fryers, who set up one of the goals (the CYL sub in that game was admittedly fortuitous). At the back end of last season and the first few games of this season I was starting to worry, but I think he's started to make some real promising changes around the club and this will put us on a strong foot going forward. Very few players perform to the best every week and at this level if you have a bit of an off day it really stands out. Every club has off days but the big test will be how we respond. So far this season the players do seem to be keen to put things right and there also appears to be unity. For those who want Pardew gone you better hope he gets the England job because only an idiot would replace him.

Everyone in this house (including me) is under five foot five and it matters not a jot; and bullying by the way is the fault of the bully not the victim and is completely out of order. Oh, and being bullied does not turn people into bullies. It might make them stand up to it. Maybe you're having difficulty telling the difference?

The board would be a better place without them both, they are infantile and ruin most threads. They offer up the sort of stuff I would expect to see on a Brighton site. West Ham defended very well and were up for it big time we just could not match their desire in the first half. Second half it was a close game i thought it was a harsh second yellow but WH gave everything the keeper made a great save he shook hands with the ball boy who gave him the hurry credit to him and West Ham who deserve credit for a great win. We had our chance from the spot and failed all told we played ok.

When Big Ben hit the post I knew it wasn't our day. Credit though - we did keep goign.

Listen up Pardew - To play out from the back you need players who are comfortable receiving the ball from the back four turning and passing the ball to one of our players. Ledley and Puncheon are no good at either....Cabaye and Lee are much more comfortable on the ball. Ledley is no premiership player Ward gives the ball away too much. Roll on the transfer window buy a new right back.
