It is the job of the manager/board to sell the club to a player. Yes currently we dont have the best infrastructure around, be we have 2 billionaire american backers that have redone at least one of their teams stadiums in the states and are going to sort ours out.

We have a team that is exciting and can beat anyone on its day, a few good additions to that squad and we can be looking at top 10 for next season. It all depends on what the player wants for themselves.

They could sign for Chelsea for example, after seeing everything they have and all the facilities but never once use them with the first team as they will be loaned out to lower standard/division clubs and have to deal with their infrastructure instead or they could come to us who have plans to upgrade everything which would very much benefit them

All true. And I suspect players are more interested in the training facilities than whether the fans have a good view or not.

Yep I saw that...if true then it would appear that the wedges of cash Newcastle waved at him when it was (rumoured) that we and other clubs started sniffing appear to have worked.

Bit too cynical maybe? If Benitez is sticking around then why not play for one of the best managers, who gets the best out of him, get back in the PL with Newscastle, and get loads of dosh for doing so?!

Really can't blame the lad for staying at Newcastle, under Benitez, undoubtedly one of the best coaches currently working in the UK and certainly likely to take them straight back up at the first attempt.
Why risk what he has on offer with the Mags.

If he played for us and left when we got relegated we'd slate him and call him a money grabber.

Shows a bit of class and stays at a club with a good manager he just signed for and people say it's because of the cash and he is a mercenary.

Fair play to the lad for staying, were it us and he stayed he would be shooting up in my estimation.

Generally that's a reasonable basis for deciding who to work for. That or the prospect of even bigger wedges in the future.

Its how the world works.

There does come a point where money is less relevant. Quality of life, long term prospects, comfort etc all play a part. I think Benitez may have done a (very good) job on him
