This is hot on twitter The Mirror also claim that Adebayor’s signing could be imminent and a deal could be done in time for the striker to feature against former club Man City at the Etihad on Saturday.

Another one bites the dust .....! DE DEAL DENIED Alan Pardew has denied Crystal Palace are interested in Emmanuel Adebayor, according to the Evening Standard. Adebayor, who is a free agent, has been linked with Palace and Watford but Pardew has ruled out a move. "There is no truth in it,” he said. To put all your minds at rest! Thank god! Don't want that bad apple in a Palace shirt anyway. That is last weeks news!

Could we really be willing to sign Adebayor? The only reason I can think of is we have some kind of agreement to take Michy batshuayi or babacar in the summer or something and this is just a stop gap to stop an outlay of cash now, hoping that wickham will stay fit and Adebayor can just fill in when nessisary.

Would like Townsend as Pardew could help shape and move him on further but thought of Adebayor bid is ridiculous and a desperate backwards step based upon his ego trying to convince in very twilight of promising-but-not-completely-fulfilled career. He'd need to drop his wages BIG time and play for reinvigorated PRINCIPLE foremost.
