I would love this one to come off but the way it's been being reported sounds like either the player or the agent are setting up their fishing rod for the summer.

I agree we are a more attractive prospect with the progress we have made over the past 2 seasons but history has told us if we have a player who will make a decision based upon the highest wage he wont be wearing red and blue stripes next year.
Although I wonder if Caulker's thought process would be the same if he could go back in time?

He def does I'm sure.

But hey....palaces relegation process may have been different too if we signed him and not Dann.

Such a small market the prices can be changed by something as small as a 100 quid bet on palace. Plus that's only 1 bookie so not really a true indication.

In reality if the bookies though it was a sure fire thing they'd make it heavily odds on. The only thing that shows is that that particular bookmaker is happy to attract the 'favourite' punters and they are fairly confident nothing will happen overnight.

Usually the established bookies take down such markets overnight as it's only the less experienced in play traders working overnight.

These markets are never offered to make huge amounts of money on, unless it's a big English name. They're more to keep the occasional punter with them.

Not saying he won't come, just trying to explain how the industry works.

Why would anyone chose to be a Seagull? The Eagle is a far superior creature.

The Seagull lives under it's damp pier meekly looking out, blinded by the sheer quality of the Eagle's palace.

This hasn't been mentioned yet, so I thought I'd post it

Rich Cawley confirms Yohan Cabaye

RICH CAWLEY:
PSG's Yohan Cabaye sounding pretty keen to work with Alan Pardew again. Palace been chasing a deal for some time.

So it isn't just paper talk.

Dann was already at the club when we were chasing Caulker. Signed the Jan before

Cabaye is using us to get other teams interested and it's working. He sees us as a last resort. Really don't want a player like that here no matter how good he is. Character is also an important attribute when getting new players in. He will go to Wet Spam.

That's a bit of an unrealistic attitude. How many of our current players would choose to stay at Selhurst Park if they were offered a guaranteed first team place at one of the top clubs.

Cabaye is said to want a move for guaranteed football so that he can get into the French team but if he has read HOL he will be well aware that English players who play for Palace won't get into the England team as we are only a small club so what chance would he have of a place in the French team ( well according to many HOL posters anyway )

Opinion. Sorry just don't want to get my hopes up and to me that is the likely scenario of what is going on.
