How are we to describe those professionally offended by Russell Brand's silliness? That got even more front pages than this. Granted he doesn't bring as much money in, but if we only judge our morality by that, it's a sorry state.

I'm happy with this state.

The BBC ditching its biggest money maker is stupidity that only the left could undertake....Morality my foot, this is the real world.

Like I say the foolish need to be stopped from providing fuel to the ending of the license fee.

It's madness really. It sends out a warped message when we have hundreds of thousands of people signing messages of support to someone who sent a guy to hospital and the guy with the bloodied face gets further harassed and threatened online.

This is SPARTA!

If you don't like it.....big cheese.

It's called popularity.

If you don't give people what they want, eventually that's going to smack you back in the face....Or in this case the BBC.

They would regret letting Clarkson go.....I hope not big time and personally I don't like the risk being taken with an institution I love.....Over a nothing incident.

They are of course a world away as individuals, but Jimmy Saville took advantage of the very same 'don't bite the hand that feeds you' attitude. Sometimes morality trumps money. If he punches another person in the face and sends them to hospital is that okay too? And another?

I get that he brings in staggering amounts of money so the Beeb are in a bind. If they keep him on so be it. I won't be losing much sleep over it. It''ll be a green light for him to keep acting the same way though.

Maybe....I think a far more sensible handling of the affair would be to come to a private agreement with Clarkson and co for a natural 'changing of the guard' in a couple of years time.

No big controversial event....Everyone's happy. The viewers deserve a celebration of what the show has become...Not all this negativity, whoever is to blame for it.

People are going to be seriously pissed off if it ends like this.

Yes, I can see some sense to keeping it private. The BBC is its own worst enemy sometimes in terms of fanning the flames and of course other media outlets love to jump on board.

From what's been said it does appear that they kept the lid on this for days, but then Clarkson himself asked for it to be investigated. Maybe he's just had enough?

True....Maybe we are only seeing half the real story on this one.

I hope they come to some positive conclusion whatever it is.

According to the independent, Jezza called the bloke a lazy Irish... Before lamping him.
If we can now get away with punching people at work, I can't wait till Monday...

Quite right.Heaven forbid the day when employers sack someone (regardless of their value to a company) for punching another employee in the face for no good reason. These lefties really haven't got a clue

But surely he had good reason as he was hungry and there was no hot dindins waiting for him. Isn't that a good enough excuse to physically assault a colleague?

Once upon a time, men were men and could take the rough with the smooth......Now they sack people over bruises......Let's hope this country never needs conscription again for any real fighting...God forbid how embarrassing it would be.

I think it's more political than that from both sides, the beeb and the rest of the press. Do we not recall how people worked themselves into a frenzy over Russell Brand making an ill advised phone call? Is that worse than putting someone in hospital? No-one seemed to mind people being offended back then. The bloke lost his job.
