We saw it at Peterborough, and we always knew it at Palace, even from the warm-up at the Crawley friendly: Gayle can finish. Tonight he was able to take advantage of a tired, confused, frankly dreadful spell of Liverpool defending, but for the rest of the season his movement has not been Prem quality. If we use him as a final 20-minute destroyer next season, whilst training him on his movement, he could be a great player.
If he isn't a 90minute player - Fulham on sat might give us another clue if he starts - then a powerhouse supersub but only if we are going for it in the last 20mins Like it. Edited by Kermit8 (05 May 2014 10.26pm)

Not gonna be a popular post but seriously what a waste of money. Got bullied lost the ball didn't hassle. Not for me. His goal at Villa park does not make him a class finisher. Sorry peeps worse then Jerome.
And I see signs of half remembered days, I hear bells that chime in strange familiar ways |

The amount of crap that has been typed about this player is mind boggling. Bought on promise, dismissed and derided. I said it at the beginning.....The lad is a finisher and just needs the time......But for some on these boards if you're not the finished article then you're crap. He showed his worth tonight. And before it is mentioned , yes I know one games doesn't prove anything , but he has shown more than enough that in time he can be an asset.

Considering the limited amount of time he's spent on the pitch this season I think he's been fantastic. Looking forward to hopefully seeing more of him next year.

Just watched the goal highlights that sir staffie put up... Watch Gayle's goals and spot, not only the quality of his finishes (one right one left foot), but, the subtlety of his movement and positioning. Maybe against a tiring defence, but, it shows the lad has class. Edited by moylerg (05 May 2014 10.52pm)

But wasn't he so bad when he came on against the multi million pound Man City that he looked lost ? I am sure I have read that somewhere .

If they are given a chance Gayle and Murray will get us goals next season.

Just to see the look on Gerrards face and Suarez bawling was worth every single penny. Thanks, Dwight.
