Why use a rope a dope tactic when fighting Dudley Harrison? Inviting the punches (however weak), and giving none out is just irrational.

Wtf? Are you talking Welsh?

Now Now Maple, don't upset him. You know how crabby he gets when he is tired

Are you too fuking stupid to read an analogy or do I have to spell it out in noddy language?

Ah, Dudley Harrison. You know, Audley's brother.

My 2 cents...
We didn't look bad on the 1st half, or better, we didn't allow them too much.
Maybe this time, thanks to their lesser quality compared to ManU or Southampton, we did not only sit deep but also tried to come forward from time to time.
The problem is we're very bad in keeping the ball, so it's always a chase of the ball without much luck.
I think Jedi did well but free kicks (why taking them?), also central defenders did fine.
Ledley and Ward seemed insecure although no big mistakes.
Dikgacoi very bad, cannot pass the ball, cannot retain it, giving it away when pressed, very bad really.
Bolasie is a lucky man, as he's got pace and a great physique but his football brain is as big as a walnut. What he does (or does not) with the ball is shocking. What must have passed in his mind when he gave the free kick away will never be revealed unfortunately.
Glenn Murray, to my big regreat, is miles off his best form. And this is a problem. He's yet to get one thing right today, always 2nd on the ball, always on the floor, never a right pass. At the moment we're missing Chamakh big time today, let's hope this helps him finding the best form sooner.

Usual stuff from us really. Minimal possession, sitting deep soaking up pressure, Jedi intercepting everything, we look fairly decent on the very rare occasion we get people forward and attack. If we end up nicking a 1-0 win then the ends will justify the means and we'll all be happy. The problem is that if we end up getting beaten and really made no effort to attack an ordinary Sunderland side there will be animosity towards our approach and lack of attacking intent.

Good valid points. If they had somebody who knew where the net was they would be out of sight by now. Most of the teams that we have to play in the future do. Tactics/formation will have to change.

We're lucky to not be losing at half time - kind of hoping for a dodgy 1-0 win now.

Can we pls start playing football????????

Murray and other forwards should be wondering why do they bother going to training...

Were not capable of playing football.

At least not under Pulis. He should be the assistant who takes care of the defence only!

Where's Bannan to play through passes to the wingers?! No he opts to play the oh so technical fat KG!

I expect us to get at them a lot more in the second half. I think that's the way it will be. This is the Pullis way. The big danger is the ref who I understand never showed a read card all season till this afternoon.

'- Really? Honestly? Back in the USSR,,,you don't know how lucky you are.

The only positives i can give from this match so far are 1. we're not losing 2. jedi hasn't been booked yet 3. we're kicking with the wind second half

Edited by millsy-125 (15 Mar 2014 3.51pm)

Sadly one of those is not correct Jedi has been booked!

Edited by orpingtoneagle (15 Mar 2014 3.52pm)

No, not so, somehow Jedi has managed to escape a card!

Most certainly not European.

Ince is a boy in a mans fight

He is standing five yards off every time one Sunderland player has the ball - he is scared to make a tackle - Really is he Paul Ince's son...bring on Bannan I say!
