Just got home -240 mile round trip to watch an abject display that was only beaten by the Norwich home game - Jedi and kg were poor in the middle and we made saints look good. Very cynical tackling - reflected by the 5 bookings for saints. Playing with only Murray up front was always going to leave us short of chances. Saints play a high line pressing game but we were unable to retain the ball for 2 consecutive passes and therefore push them back. Lallana looked a decent player but his constant moaning annoyed me. Officials were poor and inconsistent. I was surprised that Pulis made no changes at half time - Puncheon should have been off and I would like to have seen Gayle on. Strangely missed Chamakh today. Got my tickets for. Sunderland so I hope its a better showing. Keep the faith. It wouldnt be Palace if it is was easy.

I was equally disappointed with how the fans, specifically in the mid and lower parts of the Arthur participated all through the match. I take pride in the 'sing all the time' motto, but today felt like it was 'sing when you're winning' atmosphere, which we weren't. Just before the goal, we went down the left and the place was rocking like normal. Goal goes in. Everyone shuts up. It was a crap game. The officials were bad, but they didn't change the game. The fans all together were poor from the start (compared to normal). Ledley, Ward and Bolasie were the only positives you can take from the game. Cameron Jerome will do one thing in about 6 games, today he beats a man and gets a cross straight across the 6 yard box and no one is in the right area to put it away. This cost us the points today, more than any crap refereeing decision did. That said, I am still confident we'll stay up. Fulham are dead and buried now. Just got to hope that we will perform better than 2 other teams.

What an awful performance that was. We really can't blame the ref for that loss. I don't know what he could have done differently that would have helped us win the game. It was one of those (like so many this season) where we could have played all day and night and wouldn't have created a single opportunity let alone score a goal. The problem with Pulis is that his plan works as long as we score first. If we concede we are pretty much dead and buried as the other teams will have so much of the ball we have no chance. On a player basis, KG was simply woeful. Slow and ineffective. Jedinak was his usual self where he is great at winning the ball but just gifts it back to them straight away as he cannot pass a football. Bolasie was v quiet first half as he was against Swansea and then was great second half and far livelier. Defence were fine today- did what they had to do. Speroni should have won the challenge but equally shouldn't have been in the position where he had to Puncheon and Ledley were awful (just didn't do anything). Murray worked hard but had nothing to go with. Felt sorry for him! We need to focus on next game and perhaps work on a Plan B in training whereby if we do go a goal down we have an idea of how to play a bit more expansive football and still try and win.

He had the highest pass success rate of any Palace player on for the whole 90 minutes. He also did the most crosses. Not great but I didn't think any our midfield or attacking players played that well. So perhaps he was the best of a bad bunch. [Link]

Went today and have come away very depressed. We are a very, very limited side. There is no creative spark in that midfield, yet Bannan has remained on the bench game after game. Felt sorry for Murray who worked his socks off with no service. Howard Webb was also an absolute joke. Not sure where we go from here unfortunately.

Disappointing result yesterday, although we failed to muster a lot and they deserved it on chances. Don't agree with playing Ledley-KG-Jedi, produces too much confusion and is far too defensive in my opinion. Need to shake it up in that area. Also Jedi should be nowhere near dead ball situations. Can't Ledley or Bannan if he plays take a decent free kick ? I'd have the latter in the team just for this at the moment to be honest.

Be nice to see Thomas come on again, looks like he's capable of crossing which sadly Bolasie for all his fine efforts still seems incapable of. We all love Bolasie, but there is no denying his end product is awful.Thomas is a winger who can actually cross the ball!.If the aim is to get wide and put balls in for cham + Murray, then Thomas has to start.

We had a great period and it now seems like we're losing it at the wrong time. I sometimes think TP is putting players in the wrong places and needs to give Bannan and Gayle a chance.

Strange thing today walking up The Holmesdale road before the game at about 250 pm there seemed to be a lot of tv cameras about interviewing fans about the game when I saw a bloke in Arsenal shirt being interviewed outside entrance1 in a cherry red 02 home shirt.
The world was a mess but his hair was perfect! |
