A report today from that well known right wing lobby group Friends of the Earth in the well known Tory supporting Guardian. Massive shock almost 50 politicians are in receipt of EU funds. As I have said repeatedly on this thread it is naive to think that one side are in it for themselves whilst your side are paragons of virtue. Can someone please make room at the trough I need to get my snout in.

Highly illogical People were given the vote with the previso that we should remain in the EU. So people voted leave despite warnings about the harm it would do, presumably as they thought in their own wisdom and on the advice prominent leave campaigners that we would be better off. Now after the slow realisation that isn't the case and Brexit is nothing short of a catastrophe, us Remainers say we told you so. Yet you have the temerity to blame us. It was obvious to us the severance agreement would never get through parliament and there was no real idea or plan of our future path outside the EU, yet you still talk about how great Brexit is despite no idea of what it entails. You leavers sound like comical Ali as the US tanks roll in

EU farming subsidies are one of the reasons we've lost most of our hedgerows.

There is a lot wrong with the CAP which is a blunt instrument designed to protect the livelihood of small farmers. It must be difficult trying to reconcile the needs of small olive growers with larger northern European farmers. It has lead to widespread criminality across Europe and has actually benefited larger farmers who didn't really need the subsidies. Post Brexit I would hope that we can come up with a better system more suited to the needs of this country. Edited by Badger11 (04 Feb 2019 11.35am)

I didn't say remainers were to blame for Brexit. My point was, if they had all accepted the result of a referendum that they had agreed to hold and both Tory and Labour had in their manifestos, they could have spent all this time sorting out a good deal. Instead the in-fighting/political points scoring/total disregard for the result has meant very little has been acheived

No dice. This will be the fault of the conservative party, party before country. EU people realising that they are dealing with the conservative party, not the UK.

You are a fine one to talk.....you put EU before country. I'll remind you that many millions of Labour voters voted for leave....most of them in the north....many of them have voted Labour for decades.
