Didn't Pards sell Murrey and buy this (now) useless sticker. he was appalling today, missed at least 3 easy goal chances. Think Parish went on record saying “the manager” told him Murray was not up to the level of the premiership anymore. Good on him for making Pardew look a cnut. Such a shame he’s doing it for Brighton

Because we thought we were upgrading by letting Murray go and bringing in Benteke. Hindsight is a wonderfull thing, especially in football, but we made a mistake, a costly mistake.

This post has been merged from a topic called '2 Questions About Benteke ' by bexleydave First question: Why did Benteke score so many goals for Aston Villa and look like such a world class striker? Second question: Why isn't Benteke scoring any goals for Palace and doesn't look the same player at all? It doesn't make sense to me. We spent 30 mill on him because he is meant to be a world class striker. Why has it gone so wrong for him? The situation reminds me of the space jam film where all the players get their skill sucked out of them. Benteke seems like he's lost everything about him... This post has been merged from a topic called '2 Questions About Benteke ' by bexleydave It’s a valid question but this sometimes happens with strikers who mysteriously lose form (think Schevchenko and Torres for example).

Why play him against a physical side. For a guy of his size he's a powder puff. There was one point in the first galf where he got into the box and went down as soon as he was touched if he had used his strength he would have had an easy chance. He gets pushed off the ball far too easily for a big guy.

Debate can go on forever but the only mystery is why Roy puts him in every week If he feels we have no one better then he should have signed a quality striker in transfer window (please don't class ayew as quality) Maybe more confidence building at crosses in training being marked by Johnny Williams and using rugby posts .

At least Ayew scored 11 goals last season for a team that was relegated. Quality strikers cost a great deal of money in transfer fees and wages and we just weren't in a position to open the purse strings to that extent.

I just don’t know what’s happened to him. He is lost. Even if he gets a goal I just don’t think it’s in him to then go on a run. When he scored at Leicester and West Ham last season it did nothing for his confidence. Aside from aerially he is so weak and easy to dominate, a defenders dream. His all round game actually is ok but in front of goal he’s finished. I do feel sorry for him, well as much as you can for someone on £100k per week. I think he’s had enough time now. Whether we have a suitable replacement for him or not. We cannot allow these opportunities to keep falling to Benteke. It will send us down in my opinion. The pressure is going to escalate again for him, the groans are turning to boos again. Our supportive oh Christian Benteke’s are having no affect. His role as the pantomime villain will return for him. From a commercial point of view if we don’t play him and he shows no signs of recovery who the hell is going to want to buy him and for how much!? A massive financial hit.
