So, according to Sky, Parish was intending to make a substantial offer to Silva, only to discover he'd gone to Watford (if you're not fast you're last, Steve). Dyche and Monk are on the shortlist and we'd prefer to appoint British, but are aware of the success of German and Portuguese coaches in this country. And don't expect anything anytime soon as Harris and Blitzer are carrying out due diligence on any prospective appointments.

Sounds all a bit of fishing in the dark as there are conflicting statements in this piece. Only transfer activity at Burnley seems to be rumours surrounding Keane's departure. If we are looking at a British coach and the Yanks wish to due diligence why don't they come overhere to be part of the process ?Also the list is supposedly 12 plus including Dyche and Monk. Who are the other 10 ? So if it is 100 then you can include Pards, Ollie, Colin and Dougie as well. Hell let's go back to Sir Steve and El Tel. Whole piece seems cobbled together.

If Sky have got it right, he's in the US to be told that he won't be flying this one solo and that any decision will be subject to scrutiny.

Probably expected after the Pardew contract extension and sacking delay.

Absolutely understandable and I'd say a good thing.

Agree on this but how can the process move forward if we are looking British with them in the States ? I know they like to do business face to face but getting Parish to trot over there at the moment seems a waste of time and unnecessary. Assume he is going over with a dossier of the potential candidates for them all to mull over and come to a ranking.

How do we know that any of this is true?

It is only supposition that we are only looking at British managers which is a bit of a daft comment for Sky to make when in the same article they claimed that we were interested in Silva.

We don't even know that he has gone to the States to see the American investors or for any other reason.

The whole article was just guesswork to fill a space

Is he though ? No suggestion that he is over there apart from a scheduled radio show.

They're in the UK, but not Great Britain.

But have British passports and represent GB at the Olympics (eg Mary Rand)

I hope that's true. Weren't they the ones who wanted Big Sam when SP wanted someone else.....or is that some BS I fell for!

Are there 12 possible British managers that could go on a shortlist? Anybody prepared to guess the list?

Monk, Dyche, Hodgson, Howe. If they really mean UK then could add Rodgers * O'Neill but that is only 6.

I agree that the piece from Sky gives the distinct feeling that they know absolutely nothing. Only bit that makes sense is that it might take a while because they are more likely to have heard something if we are at all close to an appointment.
