This summs up the Chinese. I always laugh now when I pass the Chinese take away here that’s gone out of business. Only used it twice I think. There’s a better one. Last time I bought from there I received a chicken dish with some reformed cr@p with duck skin stick to it. Duck skin? Are they taking the p1ss, as foreign businesspeople do from cultures where it’s normal to lie. Well I found out they were when I took it round there on Sunday to get my £5 back on principle for selling me something that wasn’t what I ordered worth 50p. She laughed and I laughed at her. Now their business is finished and I think flats are being developed. That’s what happens eventually to lying cheats in a culture it doesn’t go down well in and they eventually have other choices to do business with. Apply that to any size business. It’s strange how out of communism you get a minority mega wealthy Chinese but a majority of over a billion people, nearly all actually, very very poor people. We should stop trading with them as much as possible until they change certain things, starting with vermin diets and food markets.

We can threaten China all we like about a reduction in trade but I suspect we will be back dealing with them as before when the crisis is over.

Boycott will only be on an individual level, when possible. But I bet it’s more possible for people not struggling than they think it is.

Chairman Mao had a term for those in the West who made threats against his regime. He called them "Paper tigers". Perhaps those in the UK making such threats about future trading are just snarling paper tigers. For avoidance of doubt I am idealogically on the right-wing of the Conservative Party, I have NOT read the thoughts of Chairman Mao in that 'Little red book' nor have I any intention of doing so!

In all seriousness, where are Bruce Willis and Denzil Washington when you need them? I'm beginning to think that those documentary films that they were in were made up. And I was going to see Derren Brown later this month at one of his gigs. And now they've cancelled it. If ever there was a time to go to a Derren Brown gig it's now. He could tell everyone whether they had it or not.
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

Amazon in New York sack worker who stood up to the company putting workers at risk by flouting advice and rules. They used the excuse the worker should be self isolating when he/she came in to lead the colleagues in the walkout. Sportsdirect was no different and there will be lots of little businesses around doing similar with people glad they’re in employment with people probably queuing up to take their place. Diligent practices were never going to happen in the Western world in February and March. Let’s hope authorities can make every single business abide by rules so we can minimise future lockdowns.
