Still think Mancini will be the one! (worth a punt at 20: 1 in some places) Think he would like being in London and dining out with the likes of Conte over a bowl of pasta.

We want a manager who can attract a Calibre of player. Some of Roy hodgson purchases include j.greening, ageing Damien duff, Christian Poulson, Paul konchesky and Raul merielles . Whilst he may have the crudientals on his cv. Who's Roy bought that been great?

My spelling crap I know

Sorry I've just noticed that Ken has already replied.

But surely Parish isn't going all the way to NY for a radio programme when we need to appoint a manager? It must be a 'phone chat, if there's any truth in it, surely?

Good link, Bex.

If he came over, he's scheduled to be on at 9:20am NY time so he does have time to return to London in time for a Thursday or Friday presser, given the near procession of flights from either JFK or Newark. Of course, he may continue on to Philly.

Mancini was in London, whilst Parish was in Spain

He's my first choice, but I doubt he'd be interested in any event.

My dream picks would be between Tuchel, Spaletti and Mancini. Obviously all unlikely, but I can dream.

FFS. I hope that Sam Allardyce is one of those on the list. And that Parish has gone to the US to ask for enough money to give him everything he wants and more in the transfer window.

So, according to Sky, Parish was intending to make a substantial offer to Silva, only to discover he'd gone to Watford (if you're not fast you're last, Steve). Dyche and Monk are on the shortlist and we'd prefer to appoint British, but are aware of the success of German and Portuguese coaches in this country. And don't expect anything anytime soon as Harris and Blitzer are carrying out due diligence on any prospective appointments.

Watching that made it clear they have no more clue than we do.

If Sky have got it right, he's in the US to be told that he won't be flying this one solo and that any decision will be subject to scrutiny.

New York Times columnist Rory Smith has Tuchel going to Leverkusen, Mancini to Zenit and Spalletti to Inter. Also, Harris and Blitzer want their say in the hiring process. So, it makes sense for Parish to come over here and meet with his partners. Don't worry, there is no chance of an American being thrown into the mix nor is Klinsmann a likely candidate.

From the Smith column, it seems that Tuchel doesn't get along with others, which will not endear him to the teamwork minded Americans. That doesn't mean he shouldn't at least get an interview, but probably not likely. It also doesn't seem likely that a hiring will be done this week. So, let the speculation continue.
