Fascinating stuff Ouzo. How did you get to see pics of the tank's interior? Are they freely available somewhere?

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Clearly putin doesn't care about the dolphins or the clean air act. The scoundrel !

you may need a translator. These purport to be T80 but I note the Thales brand.

Edit : it could be an update to the pakistani version.

My mate is a retired tank commander. He says the Carousel is a real weak point and you will often see these tanks with the turret completely blown off. You really wouldn’t want to be inside one when it gets hit by a modern anti tank missile.

Ive lost the link, ill try & find when i get the chance.

Grumbles link is a great find though & almost identical to the russian T-80

I guess russian doctrine hasnt really changed since WW2, its crews are as cheap & replaceable as its MBT's..
Putin has funneled billions into upgrading its tanks but the money seems to have disappeared, I mean these still has its uses and are clearly deadly however up against anything modern, its getting its arse kicked.
When this war ends his advisors & the people responsible for maintaining/upgrading his heavy armor are all going to disappear.

The pitfall of being surrounded by yes man, at Putin certainly is, is that those men too are surrounded by their own yes men. People are told what they want to hear and rule by fantasy rather than function.

Yep thats what i mean when i say you see the turret decapitated, once one shell goes off the rest quickly follow, all thats left of the crew is charred bones.
Russian tanks have pretty much a 0% chance of survival for its crew.

Heres an example of Russian armor being hit causing all the shells surrounding its crew to cook off.

Atleast its over quick

Everyone should go to the tank museum in bovington.

the sherman tanks in ww2 were called either tommy cookers or ronson lighters as they tended to do the same when hit by a german AT round, as the fuel tank would go up.
