Let's hope that he isn't just another diversity box tick and can be an improvement.

Mind you....I doubt it somehow as the main problem with that show is the wokeness.

Musk retweeted someone the other day words to the effect that it would be nice if 'Sci Fi was actually about the Sci Fi again' rather than being about progressive politics.

But as those are the people who are being given the jobs in the entertainment business I can't see any change.

They obviously think it's popular at present. No one goes to the cinema or turns on the TV to be constantly lectured in diversity or equality or some kind of gender rubbish - yet, here we are. I find it almost impossible to go to the cinema now and watch old programmes in the main. I'll watch sport and war documentaries, but these days have to watch Lynette Nusbacher in those too. Not the best looking 'woman' quite frankly.

Yep, I'm similar.

Thankfully there are decades worth of classics available that and you can have your own 'Dave' channel from it.

Far better than anything today.

My current guilty pleasure is the original Battlestar Galactica.

I strongly disagree.

I, personally, was travelling all over Europe to engage in neo-nazi rallies, posting on underground racist forums and just generally spreading hate in years gone by, I also used to demean and threaten women at football games.

It wasn’t until some non-white actors got roles in film and television alongside the never ending promotion of women’s football did I, through this divine intervention, start to accept that what I was doing was perhaps wrong and meritocracy is merely a form of oppression imposed by white males.

Thank goodness I was saved and that societal values are now based upon political dogmas as opposed to reflecting logic and reason. It’s also fantastic that ruthless corporations have abandoned any financial decision making to aid this cause through nothing but their own enlightenments.

I can now also compensate for my own shortcomings in my life and personality through following them fanatically as opposed to via my own cognitive capabilities, I now scream on social media and at others in person for the exact same reasons but with an almost opposite narrative.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Yes, we should all be grateful to be the best 'we' we can be.

Pathetic woke t***tery from the predictable BBC.

The new Doctor is gay and Black. No surprise at all.

It seems that young White straight males are not allowed to have heroes any more. They no longer matter. Will the Doctor have a little gay Asian transvestite assistant this time, I wonder.

Much better to have someone who represents two minorities. That will make the BBC look all progressive and virtuous.

Shove it up your arse sideways BBC.

I should think that a fair few of them don't need the encouragement.

I mean I find the overtly obvious box ticking from the likes of the BBC to be very cringeworthy & also patronising to minorities. That being said, if only you knew just how much you yourself sounded like one of the woketards when you make comments as tragic and ridiculous as this.

You're both a bunch of virtue signalling, hysterical, cultists. At least the wokies are honest about it!

You have a point.

It's Doctor Who. Been f***ed for decades now. And this is a BBC that boasts when it loses listeners. Personally, I hope it becomes even more woke. One of the best recruiters the Right could hope for.

I think we can file this story under you couldn't make it up.

When the government froze the TV licence the BBC predictably complained that this would impact the quality of programming and lead to job cuts. Okay we get it, BBC is hard up, now read this.

[Link]

Yup The BBC is going to spend £50m on finding out what people like to watch. As the article says why not just look at the ratings it's what the other TV companies do.*

So next time the BBC complains about cuts just remember this and the £80m they spent on the new Easter enders set.

*Isn't it the job of management to commission programmes (There's enough of them at the beeb) that they think the public will like, sounds like they are not very good at their job.

So by commenting on wokeism I become as bad.

You will have to explain that logic, preferably after you have spent a few moments considering just how daft that statement is. .
