Latest odds Interesting. Was 1/3 across the board yesterday but a few have now gone out to 2/7. Guessing heaps of younger folk managed to register in time last night. Believing that young people will be blindly cajoled into voting for EU membership is a dangerous assumption for the remain camp... No one demographic can be consistently relied upon to 'do what their told'.

So why did the EU take Cameron's pants down and send him packing when he tried for reform a while back then? You'd think if we were as major a player as we consider ourselves to be we'd be the one's holding all the cards and making them dance to our tune? Clearly behind all the faux "oh please don't go" rhetoric they don't consider it to be that big an issue (?)

You keep setting them up and I'll keep knocking them out. That is the correct saying right?

He clearly didn't come back with nothing. Perhaps not enough for the UK's liking. But the fact that he has won the right to hold back on welfare for immigrants such as working tax credits for those on piss poor wages shows he came back with something. As we all know there are positives and negatives for both leave and remain.

Edited by nickgusset (08 Jun 2016 12.55pm) Fair point Nick...the way the Brexiteers go on about it though would suggest he came back a failure and got nothing. I really cant see myself deciding on which way to vote until I stand at he ballot box at this rate. Both sides have compelling arguments (once you get through the usual rhetoric and bollox spouted by each side)....decisions decisions hmmmm

I wonder if he will retract that or just ignore my response to his accusation.

couple of articles from German press - Spiegel showing how the referendum isviewed from abroad. Includes this, which muddies the EU army argument somewhat. Among those invited to the meeting called by Selmayr were Chancellor Angela Merkel's advisor on European affairs, Uwe Corsepius, as well as representatives from France, Slovakia and Malta. Slovakia is scheduled to take over the rotating EU presidency in July and Malta is to follow in that role in January 2017. In addition, European Social Democrats are currently working on a paper calling for the intensification of European integration. Meanwhile, those in favor of Britain's departure from the EU have begun resorting to dubious reports in their effort to win over voters. A story in the British daily The Times on Friday claims that the EU has taken "steps towards creating a European army." According to the story in the conservative euroskeptic paper, the plan was to have been kept secret until after the Brexit referendum. The story was likely referring to comprehensive foreign policy guidelines currently being developed by Federica Mogherini, the EU's top foreign policy representative. Mogherini's draft text includes ideas aimed at exploring stronger joint European defense efforts. Originally, she was scheduled to present her draft text in the coming days, but the presentation has been pushed back to June 24 due to British sensitivities regarding common EU defense efforts. The European Commission immediately denied the Times report and said that the EU's new foreign and defense strategy does not include plans for the creation of an EU army.

See 2 or 3 posts before this one. We can't stop the benefits until another year after the referendum. Which will then bring us in line with what Brits would be entitled to in Europe. And this something the EU had been blocking for years because was discriminatory. Anything else?
