THE EU IS BROKE. FACT. I'm still awaiting a response from a Remainer (any will do!) regarding the current economic situation in Germany. Edited by .TUX. Read properly before jumping to pointless conclusions eh??

Not quite, don't confuse Europe with the EU, and the import side of that equation massively outweighs the exports. We make up 11% of Germany's entire economy. We either reciprocate tariffs or replace the partner if they want to ransom the logistics. There's nothing from the EU members we can't get elsewhere, in many cases cheaper and in every case on our own terms without having to look after 27 other mouths into the equation. Edited by ChrisGC (27 Jan 2019 2.44pm) So with the logic you use why cant germany take their 11% and deal with some other countries.

That is hardly a ringing endorsement of the EU. And yet Brexiteers are told we are the negative ones. Nearly half (49%) of leave voters said the biggest single reason for wanting to leave the EU was “the principle that decisions about the UK should be taken in the UK”. Immigration you mean

But the German attitude to guilds and engineering is world class.....though I expect their standards to dip slightly in the coming decades.

Whoa captain. The EU has been surviving, not prospering, on free-money for years now (to the tune of around 7,600euros per person). For the record, i'm happy that you're happy with your choice.
