No, no and no.

There is little point in engaging with you. Your narrative is fixed and you have the classic leftist
" you are entitled to my opinion " .

You are by implication saying every first hand witness to Biden INs's activities and the laptop shop owner are liars.

You are simply not qualified to comment on for example, Trump's medical status, but you do asif your opinion is somehow factual.

Enjoy your bowls, which ironically is reliant on bias, as are you.

Whether you engage is your choice. I won't miss you. You are not entitled to my opinion. You can read it if and when you choose to.

I am not saying anyone is a liar. I am saying that without evidence, what is said is assertion. We have no idea what pressure has been put on them or what their motivations might be.

The laptop incident is highly suspicious, given Giuliani's involvement. Whether the shop owner was duped, or a willing accomplice, remains unknown.

I am not commenting on Trump's medical condition without due cause. The professional organisation in the USA expressed grave concern.

My bias is to the truth, democracy and the rule of law. I am proud of that.

I've not watched the video, but I know how they can be manipulated these days. I also know that the girl withdrew her statement. A 14 year old's memory of what happened when she was 8 is hardly reliable. Biden is certainly very touchy-feely, and that lays him open to this kind of stuff.

Believe women? Just the same as I believe men. When they are telling the truth and have evidence in support.

Are you a child phycolgist now? Very disingenuous.
If your girl suddenly blurted out about something in her past would you doubt her?

As a regular reader of the New York Times & as a self described liberal, I'd say that lately their research and editorial staff have become less reliable. They, like many others in the American media, have loosened their verification standards and sometimes print opinions as fact. Then they are forced to retract and/or correct what was printed. Sometimes their Corrections Column is two pages long, often on Sunday. Having said all that, the Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times & Chicago Tribune still have a justified reputation for accuracy that dwarfs many others, especially the Murdoch papers and those owned by such organizations as the Unification Church.

Television news is less reliable due to frequent factual errors. For example, on tonight's (8/2) ABC Evening News with David Muir, with a caption that read "Capitol Police Officer Commits Suicide," Mr. Muir read the story's copy that said a member of the Washington Metropolitan Police was the victim. Thus, the caption was at odds with the copy as these are two separate police forces with totally different jurisdictions. The Capitol Police have jurisdiction over the Capitol Building, the Metro Police are the city's police force. It was the Capitol Police which had primary jurisdiction during the events which transpired on January 6th, 2021 inside the building and on its grounds. Metro had jurisdiction on the streets except on Capitol property & once it responded to the CP's request for assistance but that jurisdiction was subordinate to the CP. It has, & had no jurisdiction on the grounds of the White House, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Uniformed Division of the U.S. Secret Service and had jurisdiction over Trump's rally on that date. These facts have not been adequately covered by most in the media, except the New York Times & Washington Post, which ran extensive descriptions of how law enforcement is set up in D.C. and were unusually well fact checked by said law enforcement agencies.

The only person unjustly killed that day was Ashley Babbitt.

There were no riots in her name.....no cities burned for her.

No mainstream politicians stood and highlighted the taking of her life.....only Trump and only very recently.

We had disgusting comments made against her on this very site.

She lies dead, a testament to the real double standards and racism that the elected Democrats stand for.

And also a testament to GOP cowardice.

I see. Here’s my question. Is Officer Brian Sicknick’s, who suffered two strokes while performing his duties & died as a result, justified? Don’t bother answering; the question is purely rhetorical.

My attitude towards your post is everyone has opinions and they are like touchises. Everyone has one & most of them stink, including both of ours. Yours is also irrelevant because unless your bio is wrong, you neither live nor vote here in the US of A. My opinions would be just as irrelevant if I posted about Boris Johnson, the NHS or Brexit.

That’s interesting about TV news - could it be, in part, because of the imperative to be first with the news they’re reporting what they have to try to compete with the internet or is it more bias on their part?
American news anchors always seemed to be around for so long and have so much gravitas; Walter Cronkite, Peter Jennings, Dan Rather, Tom Brokaw, etc, that they appeared credible. Maybe it was the same then too.

It may be rhetorical, but I will answer so the impression given over what is known on Sicknick's death isn't misrepresented.

Sicknick's death had no provable or knowable link to any individual's actions that day. To suggest otherwise, which the Democrat press did...for months....and in Congress during Trump's impeachment shows just how divorced from any concern for truth their narratives are.

It took the autopsy to bring any sense of reality to the proceedings...evidence that received far less press than the false accusations....And it doesn't stop people like yourself still trying to connect dots that have no base in evidence....does it.

As for the relevance of opinions due to where someone lives. That works to an limited extent and you are of course correct to imply that anything we type here makes no impact: I accept that.

However, I have an interest in the truth whether it benefits me or not and it's also true that in a globalised world, the politics of world leaders affects us all and the US being majority European represents the west....Also the economy of the US affects us all as do their relations with the west's enemies.

So occasionally I will comment, pointless as it may be, as what these people do, does and will affect me.

No, of course not, but this isn't child physiology, it's common sense and politics. If my own child was involved, and no-one else, then I would have a firm base on which to form an opinion, which is missing in these cases.

The “get it first, get it fast, get it now” attitude that seems prevalent in today’s culture certainly has played its part in not getting it right. When the US Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Care Act a number of years ago, both Fox News & CNN got it wrong in their rush to be first. Fox News corrected itself in less than ten minutes while Wolf Blitzer at CNN ran for more than 20 minutes before finally making the correction. In the days when the anchors you mentioned worked, getting it right was far more important than being first, Cronkhite in particular as was evident when he broke the news that President Kennedy had been shot.

"Unjustly killed" puts a particular spin on this sad affair, as does this summary, which only tells a small part of the whole story. Is it even true? Self-defence is justified.

Babbitt is apparently being raised to martyrdom in the eyes of the far-right. Is this healthy, given what happened?

For a more comprehensive, and I suggest better balanced, account of the context in which the event happened please read this:-

It's quite dismaying, if not unexpected, to hear commentators on the left.....who massively politicised and disfigured George Lloyd's death then also look to point fingers at the right over Babbitt.

None of them seem to know or care that this women voted Obama before Trump, because all they see is a maga hat.

To those interested in the truth, I say this:

Don't be distracted nor listen nor concern yourself over the opinions of others.

I say just watch the video of her death and then ask yourself has justice been done here compared to other deaths?

Ask yourself is a double standard being operated in the level of interest or concern over this women's death.

Unless you think that each person who entered that public building deserved to be shot and killed then you will agree that neither fairness nor justice has been done here.

CNN is to blame for essentially turning the TV news industry into part of the entertainment world. All that 24/7 news coverage has to be fueled by something and the age-old adage of journalism in terms of 'if its bleeds, it leads' has never been so horribly apt.

If a genuinely important story breaks I tend to turn off all and any 24/7 news coverage and try and discipline myself to listen to the radio instead, and only at specific times. Although not without its faults, far more serious journalism involved in how radio outlets cover the news.
