Quite right and I'll add a bucketful of ignorance to that as well. Would you care to elaborate on what they are ignorant of and please don’t bang on about our current league position and how we have never had it so good? Are you convinced that our transfer policy/plans/performance are good? Do you think we have adequate succession planning in place for both manager and new players? Do you think we will be able to build our new stand ever with the current owners in control? Do you think our younger players are ever going to be filtered into the first team under the current set as opposed to signing new players as suggested by Parish? There are lots of unanswered questions which Parish managed to swerve altogether.

This thing about stifling youth that keeps being raised has no substance. Our u23s are bottom of their league and for anybody to be close to first team level they'll need to be standout. If you know anybody involved in the National League they'll tell you how many players come on loan from Premier League clubs and struggle even at that level. The one or two that have been blooded in cup games have done OK but no more than that.

The word ignorant I used was solely for the performances of our players when taking into consideration the form, confidence and injuries our manager has had to deal with with players in vital positions, I feel Mr Hodgson has done a marvelous job controlling all these issues and this can be seen with the points we have so is factual, everything else you mention is basically speculation.

I reckon apart from Pierrick and a couple of others who have trained/are training with the first team squad, there may not be anything exciting in the pipeline for a couple of years or so during which time we will have to manage with our ageing squad and possibly a few new younger additions over the coming windows.

Looking at our league position and points tally I think we are roughly around where we deserve to be from a performance and strength of squad perspective. In fact I think the manager deserves credit for getting us this far with the available resources . In terms of a transfer policy, I'm not seeing signs that there is one. The long ago stated aim of buying young players with potential and therefore a decent sell on value never materialised. Then came the expensive ( Benteke, Sakho ) purchases that have not delivered value for money although both felt right at the time. Succession planning for players is difficult given the average turnover of managers at most clubs, and succession planning for managers is virtually unheard of and subject to change. I bet City fans thought Arteta was a shoe in to replace Pep at some point. Younger players being fast tracked into the first team won't happen unless the Academy is invested in to make Palace more competitive for the talent that they are currently missing out on. So I get the investment in that, it needs to happen. To me it sounded like the stadium redevelopment hinges on doing a deal with Sainsburys ( that's assuming funding is available ). I would contend that the deal with them should have been agreed at least in principle before Parish revealed the plans for the new stand. It's difficult not to be cynical about Parish's interview given that it was conducted ' in house '. A more probing set of questions by an independent journalist may have teased more out of him.

Who do you consider our better players technically ? We have never seen Meyer play in the hole behind a number 9, Camarasa was never given a chance, yet scored more goals for Cardiff last season than our entire forwards/midfielders Almost combined. Hodgson is the reason & wasting any more money on him or his choices is pointless, literally. I have never seen a worse few years of palace playing a home & really don't see any other way to make my point other than non attendence. We need to attack tomorrow & against Watford from the start; we are real danger of going down if we lose tomorrow. Agree with this plus didn't Roy say Reidewald is one of the most gifted players he has coached? Not digging out Roy but we have gifted players that just doesn't suit his system, I hope we dont lose them.

Meyer's stats wrt to goals and assists in the Bundesliga in the two years prior to joining us weren't very good although prolific when he was younger. Seen nothing to suggest he has the attributes to play no 10 ie passing range, ability to lose his man, shooting, crossing

You’ve excused Parish but now you’re awarding mega praise to Roy because of what Parish has and hasn’t done, on several occasions, over and over again, and now he has a manager who doesn’t walk, well..... Care to explain?

Some of it is. But our recruitment has been inarguably poor since promotion: we've overpaid on ageing players with no resale value, failed to sign young players (this is because it might stop our own from coming through? really??), and created an imbalanced squad with too few creative players. We need to change the profile of the players we sign, and we need to improve our scouting so that we can identify better players. That should have been done by now. Those are reasonable criticisms, and lumping them in with the demands of the screaming morons on Twitter is one of the ways that the video deflects criticism. im not sure our recruitment has been that bad has it? yes benteke was expensive but he was signed at 25? sakho signed at 27? only had 2 big money signings most of the rest between 8m -12m. with those signings we have never been in a proper relegation scrap since promotion & finished mid-table more often than not, so surely actually recuitment cant have been that bad. yes, our squad is ageing but its a decent PL squad and it looks like we are going to start sorting that out in the summer. maybe its just me...but i am proud the club is run in a sustainable manner, and it should be something that is lauded.

Care to explain? You write as if we were relegated two seasons ago from this league and are now falling into the third tier and oblivion. Whatever Parish does is to a large degree a gamble, look at West Ham and the games they have to play, awful situation bet they wish they had Mr Hodgson.
