If hodgson this great coach. Why did none of the England players not believe in his methods. That tournament was appalling. Steve mclaren managed a prem side after an England diabacle and look how that turned out. Also if hodgson great then why didn't Norwich , Sunderland and other consider him for their managerial positions.

FWIW the odds have drifted from 1/2 to 5/2 or 3/1. Yes I know it's on money placed on the market after the initial odds created by bookie.

The tournament was very poor but England have been poor for years. I don't think anyone has called him great, just that he is nowhere near as bad as some on here say. As for the other points, who knows whether he or the clubs were interested. I don't remember too many clubs sniffing around Sam.

The "Parish in New York" rumour is based on 1 post on the BBS. If I see him in Midtown I'll let you know.

Swansea were interested in big Sam for sure and also think hull considered Sam. The fact that we moved before Swansea first to get Sam helped .

Given our present situation I would take Hodgson. With Sam leaving we are in a temporary crisis and he would be the best answer. yes we want a long term manager eventually, but that hasn't happened, and we need to stay in the PL. Hodgson would probably be happy to hand over to a young manager having kept us up and cleaned his tarnished record. The German guy might be great, but he might not. I think he comes with high risks too, and could really stuff us up.
