The 1922 cant change rules till next week apparently, que bungle to goad Putin in to sending a rocket our way- and his Churchillian moment begins!

Childish.

I can see if he does not step down a temporary party of independent conservatives, after all they have all been threatened with deselection. Depends on the grassroot activists that will express their opinion over the weekend.

If/when Johnson goes (and the betting seems to be on it happening tonight) then whoever succeeds him has a whole fresh mandate along with a reset majority.

Could do some good with it. And I am convinced it will be Mourdant. A Leaver, along with not being tainted too much by what has happened over the last few months.

Interesting times ahead.

And lets not forget that even with Johnson on the ropes, the Tories had still managed to get within 2% points of Labour in the polling.

All to play for them.

Suggesting perhaps the nuclear option of a General Election?

TBH, anyone with some true gravitas and cross party support, unless the conservatives are now too fractured.

Nah. Calling a GE would be literal insanity. Even Johnson is not that mental.

Hnmmmmmm. For his close supporters it is the end of their political careers if they don't. I view that they may be that selfish or desperate.

To be fair the British Establishment has been in a cold war conflict with Russia for decades. MI6 and the GRU are constantly going head to head and when you understand that the long term FO policy has been about ensuring that the Germans and the Russians never get to pally, then Boris stirring the pot on that is just business as normal. If there is one thing the Labour leadership seem to avoid criticising him over is Ukraine.

The Russians see us as offering any dodgy Russian, who wants to rip off billions from their own people, refuge via letting the live here and launder the money through our banking system.

But that's not a Johnson thing. Just Perfidous Albion being perfidious.
