DF would be my choice he is Palace and put together a winning team, he made a mistake leaving that's all. I like that he identified 4 players were needed for a promotion shot and held out for them to SP. Really the other choices seem to be a bit mutton dressed up as lamb and what sort of back-room would we have. DF probably more than happy with where he is anyway.

Shows the Documentary might have worked softening for his appointment.

Freedman has been reported on more than one occasion as saying that he doesn't want to be a manager, and has also reportedly been pushing for the appointment of Ishmael, so I doubt very much he'll be in the dugout any time soon. He is no doubt capable of taking temporary charge of the team if the manager suddenly ups and leaves or is sacked, but that doesn't make him a candidate now. I also don't think Parish would place the opinion of some supporters, who might, possibly, in theory be displeased with Freedman returning so highly as to massage them by delaying the appointment until a documentary series (the release date of which is up to amazon, not Palace) has aired, just to placate them. If Parish and Freedman both wanted the latter to be manager then he would be already. Edited by TheBigToePunt (05 Jun 2021 2.26pm)

I so don’t get this Freedman stuff. He’s managed over 245 games. His win percentage is 1in 3 - which is poor. (In context his win percentage overall is worse than Peter Taylor’s at Palace). He’s lost more than he’s won with 3 clubs and he’s never managed in the premier league? Why is that deemed to be a decent appointment?

Yes, I agree, I see little upside in Freedman becoming manager. We do tend to have a rose tinted view of previous employees at Palace.

I don't think anyone wants him but its a possibility if nobody better wants the job
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

Some Saturday hopium for the Nuno in brigade, seen on bbc sport gossip that Sarri is in talks with Everton and have also noticed a few other bigger names recently mentioned too, maybe Nuno isn’t as high on their list as we thought and they are looking for a “bigger” manager. Personally would love to see him here and hope we finally find out next week who we will have! Edited by Teo15 (05 Jun 2021 3.25pm)

What I fail to understand is, if we have not yet appointed a manager (or got one in the frame) Surely the signing and retaining of players must be the new manager's prerogative ? If DF or SP are making these decisions is it any wonder we are struggling to get a new man in .....

They probably did soon the basis that it would be better to get him signed up than left a free agent. At least now if someone else wants him, Palace get a fee.....
