Talksport this morning - Max Rushden saying and Big Sam agreeing - that Barnes got away with one and as it was no different to Wilf's then why did one go and one stay? Both refs got it wrong because both players had been stonewall fouled in the first place FFS.

You are having a laugh. Any player who claps the ref for a card is getting sent off trust me. Yep, opposition players know that if they foul him that will wind him up.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Wilf Ban' by Midlands Eagle I hope Wilf just gets a warning about his future conduct and is free to return for the West Ham game. Hopefully the Ashley Barnes incident will help Wilf.

But the piece did tell us enough about the process to blow any claims about "forensic analysis" clean out of the water. Of course it's obvious bulls*** anyway because otherwise we would see steady improvement instead of increasing levels of complete bollocks.

There's only one person on the HOL who advocates 'forensic analysis' on referee's & it aint me
In all seriousness, there is a procedure which, we, as assessors have to follow ie guidelines/perameters all drawn up by the FA & various other bodies within the game incl FIFA/UEFA. It aint perfect, but, its all we got ATM.

I have a lot of sympathy with Wilf even though he was silly doing what he did. Edited by The Dolphin (01 Feb 2019 7.10am) Did mariner actually put his arms up to say advantage play on?

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Wilf Ban' by Midlands Eagle I hope Roy goes with him being an ex England boss could help. He should just apologise and explain he lost his cool because of being repeatedly fouled, game footage should endorse that. He could get away with a fine and a suspended ban with a warning to his future conduct

Why wasn't Barnes booked again for screaming at the assistant ref? Was it that the ref hadn't got his card out fast enough to book him once? This was just after he was blown up for "diving" Edited by CB (02 Feb 2019 11.44pm) ..and it was violent behaviour nothing compared to a calm clap.

In mitigation the Commission heard DC was frustrated and that was an aggravating factor, no bad language. The Commission noted he had no previous, pleaded guilty and had apologised. Got one game ban and 20k fine.

Interesting. Could he have been referring to VAR? Ive not heard Talkshyte. Mr Halsey is, how shall we say, like any other Ex-ref, who self publicises & appears as 'qualified pundit' on commercial channels/radio stations, not received warmly within the halls of St Georges Park.
