I think Roy will stay at the helm as long as the Yanks are owners. In my opinion they are the ones that are holding tight to the purse strings and until they move on we're stuck in a holding pattern and Roy is seen as a safe pair of hands - especially with the lack of investment.

It is true that Roy is very good at working with what he has and has never made unreasonable demands for transfer funds no matter where he has managed.

How is that lucky? There are games where I would have agreed with the sentiment, like possibly Spurs, or maybe even Leicester, but not Saturday. We didn't play the most eye-catching football but from the fourth minute to the last minute the result never seemed in doubt and the team worked incredibly hard for it. Having said all that, I do think our squad is one of the weakest out of all the established PL sides once you take out Wilf and Eze and that has shown when we have played these teams. Aside from the surprising early-doors wins against Southampton and Man Utd (both of which looked half asleep to be fair) all of our wins have come against teams promoted last year or this year. This has always been Roy's strength, ensuring we get results against teams in the bottom half and it should be enough to see us safe if that pattern continues. However, I still maintain that whomever is in charge next season we will not climb above 12th without investment in the squad. The only other established PL club which continues to spend at a similar level is Burnley and they have just been taken over by someone promising to invest. Roy's investment to points ratio is probably only matched by Burnley, so that should be a worrying sign. You appear to be one of those strange supporters, who doesnt like us winning. Its either the opposition didnt play well, we were lucky or they were crap.

Roy will see the season out and then I hope Dyche comes in. Roy has done a great job if unspectacular and the football has been painful to watch and this has been well documented over the last two seasons. I can’t see any other candidates other than Dyche that I would want to step into the hot seat if I am honest.

Did you mean to respond to me as my post says the exact opposite? I think possibly you did as my response wasn't exactly subtle: I'm confused by people saying we got lucky against Sheffield Utd? Perhaps,by being "Lucky" might have been a reference to the opening goal whereby Benteke's lay-off deflected off a Sheff Utd player into the path of Schlupp and his shot took a slight deflection off a sprawling defender perhaps contributing to the ball flying past Ramsdale.

There's no argument that backs up the claim we were lucky. We scored very easily and that was the job done. When teams play like Sheffield United did, sometimes the goal comes in the 1st minutes, sometimes in the 80th like the Blades v Everton game. Either way, they can keep a clean sheet and can't score, so its just a matter of going through the processes. Most of Roy's supporters and detractors have stayed pretty quite over the result, because beating a team that haven't won all season doesn't really prove anything.

If Roy walked out this evening Parish would have a hundred applications for the job by morning. Granted most would not be suitable for one reason or another but to say Dyche is all there is is laughable.

I quite clearly said we weren't lucky, we deserved the win. I was also responding to painter, not to you, who also quoted me as if I said we were lucky, when I didn't. To be clear: I BELIEVE WE DESERVED THE WIN. I DO NOT BELIEVE WE WERE LUCKY
