Benteke footballing brain is on one wavelength.....HIS.

Last night he had an opportunity to pass to Wilf or Andros on the edge of the box. What does he do?

He has a blast himself and the ball nearly went for a throw in. I was embarrassed for him so was Roy who took him off. Wilf and Andros were incredulous.

He hardly won a forward ball all night. The guy is built like a brick out-house. So if not doing well, out of the game, put yourself about and work work work.Sorlon came on. Much better first touch, hungry and puts himself about.

Bring back The HF!

I must admit that in pre-season it looked like he was starting to fire again. But he was second best to Van Dijk last night in every respect. Interestingly when Sorloth came on, the first thing he did was barge a player into the hoardings (which was hilarious), and then beat Van Dijk in a couple of aerial duels. It just shows you it can be done if you are a big lump.

Benteke needs to up his game otherwise our patience and Roy's will be wearing very thin.

Does make you wonder how long we can go without benching him, especially with Ayew and Sorloth waiting for a chance or even Andros and Wilf up front and bring some one else into midfield, maybe Meyer as an AM behind wilf and Andros. Benteke needs to know he can't play the way he has and keep his place

Honestly don't know what game you were watching.

Benteke spent most of that game completely isolated. The amount of times he seemed to be expected to hold up the ball for 10 seconds or so and wait for support was ridiculous. When we went long he was frequently dealing with two defenders in the air, and did ok in that regard.

Yeah, his shot was bad, but it's not like Andros and Wilf haven't taken the wrong option on occasion. The only other time I was frustrated was when he broke and held it up, but then couldn't find Wilf with the pass, though I think in that scenario Wilf needs to take some of the blame as the run made it very difficult for Benteke to make any sort of pass.

He had one decent opportunity from a cross, and it was a really good header on target. I don't really know what more he was supposed to do last night

Sorloth came on and looked like a kid getting a game. First thing he did was get bundled over by one of the centre halves and I have no idea what you mean about hunger, I personally thought he was trotting about not chasing very much at all, and looking like he didn't really know where he needed to be.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

The first 'duel' he had with Van Dijk he ended up on the floor!

I don't like slagging off our players but Sorloth is absolutely shocking, I said it before and il keep saying it, the chap is truly awful. Cant run, Cant beat a man, Cant head the ball, cant kick the bloody ball, as a matter of fact he is good for nothing.

I watched him all pre-season against bang average defenders and he was still awful.

Benteke should never have been taken off against Liverpool. We were getting plenty of corners and he is always a threat in the air.

At this moment in time I think our best option is to stick with Benteke if we are going to play a target man because as bad as he is, he is till 10 times the player of Sorloth.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Ayew start up top as soon as he is match fit as we are contstantly missing chances that are fizzed accross the box.

Actually 2 but one was that mis*** penalty in our 5-0 win over Leicester so hardly counts. The other was in January
