This post has been merged from a topic called 'Benteke ' by Midlands Eagle But rather than be inown as a header of the ball he can use his feet with the ball and shoot, oh dear he did and it was dire. I would not pay his wages just because he heads the ball well. Rest him.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Benteke ' by Midlands Eagle He doesn't work with the system we are playing and needs to be dropped but I can't see Roy doing it. If we switched back to style under Sam I could see him doing alright again. At the end of the day if a player cant adapt he has to go and it looks like that is the case here only problem is I cant see anyone interested in him unless we let him go very cheap

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Benteke ' by Midlands Eagle I accept that Benteke was against a world class defender in Van Dijk but whoever he is up against he is totally ineffective.Scored 1 goal in 14 PL appearances and that was a penalty ! He has been totally garbage for a long time and one cannot really see any sudden improvement in his fortunes. In short a total waste of space.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Benteke ' by Midlands Eagle Sure he’s been shyte for a year but I saw some encouraging signs v Fulham and it’ll need a few more of that kind of opposition to see if he’s going to improve. He was picking the ball up in the same areas and with the same desire he had at Villa a good few times. He needs to realise it’s no good carrying the ball to his left. It’ll get him nowhere. Sørloth’s trotting about and not challenging or cutting out passing options is annoying me just as much.

I really thought that Roy had come to the conclusion during the run of games last season that we are a better team without Benteke. Bench him and stick Ayew in for the next game, let's see who has the hunger.

Benteke didn’t suit the system last season and he looks unlikely to suit it this season.Zaha needs a mobile pacy forward beside him who will stretch defences.

People need to accept that Benteke is frankly just a s*** striker and will be gone by the end of the season. The amount of times both this season and last that the ball has been flashed across the 6 yard box by Wilf, PVA, Andros, Schlupp and nobody gets on the f***ing end of it and where is Benteke? Edge of the 18 yard box with his hands in the air. WHY???? After 3 years of playing in this team why can he STILL not ANTICIPATE where the cross is going to go???

Has to be dropped, give Sorloth or Ayew a few games, or put wilf snd andros uo front. Can't do any worse

Given that his prime purpose is to score goals, I could just about tolerate Benteke if he played with even a modicum of intelligence and held the ball up properly. I don't want to turn this into another Glenn Murray thread but he is older, smaller in physique, and slower than Benteke and yet far more effective.

I would give him one more start at Watford, then stick Ayew on at half time if no improvement. Sorloth looks very similar to Benteke, so if one doesn't score the other won't either (Wickham too, tbh). At least Ayew will have something to prove...
