Education spending. See graph and note spending under the last Labour government.

[Link]

This government has planned real cuts of 6.5% over the remainder of this decade. DfE spokesman acknowledging the big increases in spending since 1990 but failing to mention that all of that was due to the previous Labour government.

This in the midst of a productivity crisis. WTF?

This BBC podcast discusses the numbers and also fact checks Boris (who knew, he talks a load of old boll*x)

Well, he's already fatally damaged his own.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Problem also is, that increasing spending on something life the NHS or Education is actually resolving any of its problems.

You can increase spending on a f**ked car, doesn't mean its going to make it work, just because you put fancy tires on the wheels.

I am already taxed on my health care that comes as part of my salary package. Either McDonnell doesn't realise that people are already taxed or I will have to pay even more, for not using the NHS.

This goes back to my point several pages ago. The NHS may well need more money but it needs a complete overhaul, looking at what the NHS should and shouldn't provide, funding, training, and how it can work along with private health care. Unfortunately it appears to be beyond the wit of our politicians and probably the general public too.

People shouldn't be taxed for having private health care. Private health care providers should be effectively charged for their use of NHS facilities etc. Its absurd that people can pay for private health care and the NHS doesn't benefit from not providing those people with cover.

They are, whether it is enough of course is another matter I have no idea what the "going rate" is.

You would need to ask her. I am guessing though that if this had been a member of UKIP or one of the Cunds you would be calling for here head? A fair assessment?

From that commie loving source, Forbes.

Again, I ask, how can Labour possibly outdo the current lot in terms of mismanaging a country? Where ex serviceman are all over our streets yet where our taxes continue to go in to building bombs for regimes we've never heard of, in countries we never heard of, to kill people we never heard of. Where wages in real terms for average people have fallen more sharply than at any point in over two centuries, yet where, because of income increases for the very richest, we're told the economy is doing well!?!?

People in power are absolutely mugging us off.

Sorry thats bullsh1t

I am reminded many years ago when I used to peruse the 'BBS' that Trolley was very much pro-hunting and was a member of a 'Hunt'.He used to get into many a fiesty exchange by those opposed to it and there used to be more eruptions than Vesuvius.

I am not or never been a member of any 'Hunt' but I will say the case for repealing the 'Hunting Act' remains very strong.

That's all I will say on this matter else this 'Thread' will end up like the 'Fox Hunting' threads on the BBS and the focus will turn to me rather than the subject matter of this thread. So no more to say on this even if those goad me to try and lure me into a response. It WON'T be forthcoming.
