This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave This post has been merged from a topic called 'New Stadium Concern' by Penge Eagle No. Mainly because we aren’t moving to a new ground/stadium. And I for one am delighted we are staying put. Identikit, flat pack stadia have had their day. If the new main stand (PP permitting) is anywhere near as good as the artists impressions I can see our ground becoming even more iconic.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave Our ground isn't moving to an isolated location, it is staying in the heart of a community. People's matchday routines won't change. There will still be pubs, cafe's, betting shops, takeaways and the supermarket on the way to the ground. the 4 stands will still be close to the pitch, and in addition to the new stand, the Arthur Wait will be improved by the removal of the damned gantry which will make a huge improvement for those in the back third of it This will improve Selhurst, not make it worse. In all honesty, we don't owe the council anything - if they are being hard work about it, upsticks and build else where - i know selhurst is our 'spiritual home' and all that, but - like star players, they come and go. If we can build a decent stadium in the hurt of south london, which is a large area, i am all for it. I always said that i liked the idea of the Ikea site, somehow incorporating the chimney. There’s absolutely no space left in south London. Everything has been sold to have flats thrown up on.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'New Stadium Concern' by Penge Eagle This may sound utterly stupid of me, but after reading some of the thoughts on peoples views of the West Ham Stadium, does anyone fear that our new ground may potentially end up like theirs, regarding atmosphere etc? Hope not but saying that, the atmosphere is not as good now as it was in the first few seasons of the PL which is a shame.
