But, speaking exclusively to the Advertiser, Parish said unless something “extraordinary happens tonight” he expects Freedman to take the reins again at the Liberty Stadium.

“As it stands we are still looking for a new manager,” he said. “No one has accepted the job and unless something extraordinary happens tonight I expect Dougie will be in charge for Swansea.

“He has kindly agreed to do so and as it stands that’s what we are planning for.”

On the reports about Howe, Parish said: “There’s a huge amount of speculation about one person but there’s a lot of other people we are also talking to.”

If true this to me suggests we don't have an alternative lined up and are putting all our hopes on EH. This worries me big time if true, thats another week of the transfer market gone.

If this is true, then we need to forget about this new manager malarkey until we hear something official and get behind Dougie and the boys. This speculation will be doing them about as much good as it is doing us.

This says to me, that unless Howe calls the 2010 lot tonight and says "thank you very much I'll join" then no announcement will be made till after the game on Saturday. Why disrupt the teams preparation otherwise?

You never know - if we get a result and a performance up there, it might throw another spanner in the works...they may offer it to the Doog!

Anyone else enjoying the Palace rollercoaster?
