Everton get the draw 2-2. Now 3 teams have played 34 with 30 points each. Just glad it's not us. Am I alone in guessing it would be 2-2 and both teams go down? Wholly informed by a certain home match against Norwich a few years ago. You may recall the Norwich defender saving a shot with his hand and the ref not spotting it. Had he spotted it, player off, penalty, survival and a completely different history. There cant be many ref errors that have had such profound significance.

It's on SSN too. Apologies if you are trying to promote a 'friends in high places' image, but it's pretty well covered across media. I am certainly NOT attempting to promote such an image at all. Edited by Willo (02 May 2023 9.50am)

In general I find goal difference to be pretty good indicator. Any of the teams hitting midseason with a goal difference of -15 or worse should be worried. Agreed. But there are exceptions. Usually brought about due to one or two very heavy defeats.

Blimey I doubt even Big Sam could stop Leeds leaking goals at this late stage, it took him eight games to get his first win with us didn’t it? Took over on Boxing Day and we still weren’t safe till the last couple of games. He failed at West Brom as well

In terms of the relegation battle, I have formed a judgement regarding clubs I believe will plummet through the relegation 'Trapdoor' then a week later had second thoughts as results have unfolded ! At present I have settled on Southampton for the drop and given Leeds remaining fixtures I had them as joining the 'Saints', however if Allardyce is appointed they could get a 'Bounce'. Remaining fixtures : W.HAM 34 pts
LEICESTER 30 pts NOTTM FOR 30 pts EVERTON 29 pts

I did a little dance when we definitely finished at least 2nd from bottom and looking at the remaining fixtures we should tick off at least the 2nd bottom place soon too.
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

Meant to post yesterday - when you conceded that despite you being “on occasions” the “sayer of doom” - that Palace “would now be plying their trade in the Premier League next season”..!! For me that was the “Willo bell” has tolled - even the most pessimistic of us has said “we are Premier League” next season - so flip flops on - which for me is perfect timing as off to Cyprus next week for 10 days..!!
