Firstly, thanks for the technical stuff. Adds to it all. But this point I have quoted is what matters above all else. This was not some built-up urban area dominated by rooftops and windows. This was a relatively open area with very few vantage spots for a potential sniper to utilise. And that particular roof would have been the number one choice. Standing out to even the most basic onlooker as a spot that needed securing even if only to make use of for security purposes such as observing the crowd facing onto where Trump was speaking. In fact, them not having people stationed up there is just as shocking. The only question is the negligence just incompetence or willful? A simple, binary choice.

No comment about the innocent victim killed, but then the TDS victim probably thinks he was contributory to his own death by being there. Shame on WE If you, or anyone else, bothered to actually try to understand my post, it was attempting to look beyond the event itself and address the divisiveness that lies behind it and where it springs from. There is little point in commenting on the event itself, at least until all the facts are known, if they ever are to the point of general acceptance. Not that that seems to be stopping the wildfire of conspiracy theories. Of course it’s very sad that an innocent bystander lost their life but regrettably people get killed every day by guns in the USA and we don’t comment on each of them. The free availability of guns is certainly a major problem, which is a significant contributing factor, one that needs to be included in any analysis of the root causes of this event.

A man was murdered. Others are in hospital and trump another man was almost murdered and certain people and a poster only cares about villifying trump. That should tell you all you need to know about those looney wokie lefties and their character and how they value democracy. If you don't have anything other than negative or ridiculous comments at this time best to stay silent. This is not the time or occasion to vilify Trump. There are more than enough others to do that. So I am not, despite your assertions. All I have done is to try to understand what causes the divisions that create the circumstances when events of this sort occur. As Trump has made a significant contribution to stoking those divisions it cannot just be ignored. He has promised a different speech at the Convention. Let’s see. Maybe he will admit to fuelling the problem with his own rhetoric. Biden is being statesmanlike so it would lower the temperature if Trump joined him.

A nice bit of back-tracking. Nope. Just an explanation of something that ought to be obvious, but clearly wasn’t.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

I would add - if you write what you post to wind people up or get a reaction, then great job!

If you listen to some of the conspiracy theories, not the ones you read here, it was all staged to show him as a hero before the Convention. But yes, I detest violence of every kind and never want it to succeed. I wish he had never been born, not that he must now be removed. He exists, but so does the populism that allows such a character to be elevated to high office. It’s the belief in populism as a solution to political problems that needs to be removed. Not the pawns that try to manoeuvre their way to become kings.
