Holding did well in the 2nd half of the Wolves friendly. Cool and calm and played some nice forward passes out. Dont forget he is coming off a long injury and did not usually play CB at Arsenal. Might prove to be OK yet.

Indeed! After all, we bought him for a reason. Unfortunately, he was injured for much of last season. I think, like Clyne and others, he'll improve under Glasner.

It's not the £££s with the PIF, it's purely PFI.

So at £70m he will almost certainly be gone..

Will be sad to see him go, but we can't ignore the name of the game. Moneyball.

What's galling about the rumours of Man U, Newcastle, Spurs, Liverpool for our players is - if we kept our players we'd have every chance of finishing above all of them. They were all frankly rubbish at the end of last season, whilst we were, strangely, brilliant.

The latest is Newcastle have approached us.

I highly rate Guehi however if we can get close to £70m with him refusing to sign a new deal then it’s time to sell. Anderson and Richards have done well. We also have ward, Clyde, Holding, Lerma can fill in and now Chadi Riad. So it’s not even urgent for us to sign another cb.

Shame when he goes but his time at the club has been a huge benefit for him and us

A perfect summary of my sentiments.

I'd set £70mil as a minimum and start negotiations at £100mil. I'd know, from all my dealings of this manner in the past

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I thought centre back was the only position he played for Arsenal (aside maybe the odd game filling in) unless you mean he didn't play much at all.

He covered for Saliba when he was injured at the end of 22/23 season when they completely mucked up their title run-in.

Of the 10 Newsnow posts at the bottom of the home page, 8 of them are about Newcastle/Guehi. Gotta love clickbait.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

He played Right back - I'd say right full back quite a bit. Don't know the exact stats. He looked ok - maybe average enough. Not good enough for title chasers.

Sorry, but I politely disagree with that. He's always been a centre back primarily. He was signed as one from Bolton and that was his main position at Arsenal. Chambers was the one who is a CB but played a fair bit at right back for them.

Anyway, he looked good at CB against Wolves, hopeful that things may work out in terms of providing cover for Andersen, Richards and Riad. We also have Clyne, Ward and Lerma.

Exactly my thoughts too. Sell him, buy Gyokeres from Sporting and you’ll still have enough left over to put new toilets in the Arthur and a trophy cabinet in the new stand.
